The idea sounds interesting, but at the same time I think they're moving a little too fast with Chanel.

Today's soap scribes know nothing.  Stories viewers hate with a passion drag on for years while stories with potential move too quickly.  Chanel just got to town.  Viewers need to get to know her and the fact that she's lazy and greedy is not enough.

It sort of messing up her characterization. If they want her to scheme and marry a drunken Xander, that's fine, but at least don't have her do it the same day she meets him. It hurts her character.
