Legacy Characters That Need More Focus/Return To Their Respective Shows

I envisioned Marie returning when Frances was ailing to move into the Horton home and care for her mom. That could have led to Nick returning to live with his grandma. Marie could be involved with hospital and family stuff. She wouldn't have to be on all the time, just used enough to have a presence on the show.

There was never a commitment to the Hortons, even thought it seemed that actors like Lisa Trusel, Maree Cheatham and Jean Bruce Scott seemed happy enough to return from time to time.

Hope and Julie also had a half-brother/brother in Steve Olson, last played by a pre-Another World Stephen Schnetzer, all the way back in 1979! Then he apparently left town and...poof. The end. What's HE been up to for the past...I don't know, 41 YEARS?

Another Horton male just cast off. (Yes, he is an Olson, but his mom, Addie, was a Horton!)

Maybe a bit problematic with another Steve in Steve Johnson on canvas, but that seems a minor issue.

We've been going through his run on the show in the DAYS BTS thread, and...yeah, it seems he's still alive, and with plenty of potential. A brilliant troublemaker in that age bracket that could've acted as a corporate raider type for the new century once AW ended, but...another opportunity squandered.

And hell, just refer to him as Stephen, and you're fine!

At one point Julie mentioned her nephew Spencer, Steve's son so there was probably a plan to bring him on but the writers changed and he was forgotten.

On ATWT Doug Marland cleverly gave Don and Mary Hughes a daughter Christina but she was never used.

On GL Holly had a niece Emily who could have easily come on at some point.

Yes!  I wanted Emily to come back when her dad, Ken Norris, was back on the show.  I thought, depending on the casting, she would've made a great love interest for Rick Bauer.

I would have wanted to try pairing Bill in a May/December relationship with Nicole, if only to see how Jennifer would respond to her nemesis becoming her stepmother, lol.

Two words: sex change.  I'm kidding.

A couple things from the cancelled soaps:

AW never brought back Ricky Matthews, which would have given Liz a lot more to do for sure.

ATWT: The lost Hughes family members. Did John & Marion Hughes have any children? Also lost the lost Stewarts, with the Ward quadruplets never coming to Oakdale at all. Geez!

Steve was a natural for a return when Pat Falken Smith took over in 81.

Lee was tied into the DiMera's and it had already been established that Steve knew Lee in Paris.

Robert had a link to the DiMeras also and he had been in Paris.

So it would have been quite easy to tie Steve into all of that.

    • I see both Lois and BLQs sides re Gio BLQ wanted her son to be happy. Lois wanted to make sure it happened, so she gave him to family. Selfish?  Yes, but I get it Gio was raised by a loving mother and extended family. Lois followed BLQ wishes Great acting by AS & RS

date: Tuesday, May 27 | Christopher Dunn, Lynn Martin | Steven Williford I feel bad for Chelsea; she's exploring her feelings, and they're getting [unintentionally] hurt. But I love the support that Katherine has for her cousin. Bradley, you deserve one hundred times better than Deadbeat. So much more. Anita essentially tossing Tracy out... whew. She's done. DONE. Ouch... Chelsea hit the nerve with Katherine. How interesting... I feel like Tracy is becoming the mirror Anita has been avoiding while being a Dupree. What are these top secret things she's harbouring? I really hope Jessica's interest in Tyrell is genuine, because if it isn't, it might just destroy him. Back alley meetings? Your family? As if Bradley is not part of your family... Deadbeat, sit your ass down. Hey, Childbride, lower your damn voice. You're in the country club, not the country field where your ass belongs. And oh God, she's knocked up. Whew... here we go! Dante Greene, what control did this man have? But I appreciate that Anita and Tracy are uniting together; I pray that Sharon joins them soon. I love how easy Katherine and Tomas are with each other; it's smooth, it's natural and it's blooming in all the right ways. Hayley is about to battle the Dupree women for all she's worth. I am calling it right now. The unwavering support Vernon continues to provide to Anita is paramount; I adore them as the couple they are. Notes: Mike Manning (Bradley) continues to show up time and time again in scenes with Brandon Claybon (Deadbeat), who brings nothing to the table. There is an extreme lack of romantic chemistry between them. I'm wondering how different Dante Greene is going to be in comparison to Berry Gordy Jnr; we know the true history of Diana Ross and the Supremes, but how different will it be with Anita Williams and the Articulettes?
    • This episode is beyond excellent Could have waited on tge Trina Kai scenes  but regardless  great soap
    • Haha same! I didn't like her in the beginning, but over time, I've really grown to love to hate her as a villain.  I can't wait to listen to today's new episode later tonight! I've been waiting for the mom and dad (Crystal/Vincent) to have an interaction, so I'm happy to hear it's today.
    • I've always really been enjoying the show. It's very well produced and has so many soap stars in it. I was just listening to ep 7 on YoutTube and can say I'm hooked. There was an intense scene with Crystal Chappell and Vincent Irizarry about halfway through that was GOOD! Is it bad I kind of like Mina? I know she's supposed to be the main villian
    • This isn't a bad episode, but I'm finding myself not as engaged. Must be the lack of Eva and Leslie. No Nicole, Dani.
    • Yes!! I didn't realize it before, and had a busy weekend, so wasn't here much

Wow, what happened to AMC this week? Crashing from 8.4 to 6.6.. I mean, I know they used to go up and down much more than they do today, but this seems like a harsh drop (from 7th to 13th). And nice to see Y&R's first weeks
    • Why did they cut Chelsea coming out to her grandparents? We should have seen that
