Episode 4, about Alonzo Brooks, is the first where you could really tell they were playing around for TV, as one of his friends told this rambling story to justify why he didn't go back to the party that night. Needless to say, I wasn't surprised to read this was a lot of BS: https://screenrant.com/unsolved-mysteries-alonzo-brooks-murder-missing-information/ Anyway, so far I'm enjoying the show (if enjoying is the right word). I still miss Robert Stack, the trenchcoat, multiple cases an episode, and the sense of cheese, but these types of shows aren't like that anymore due to the true crime/podcast glut. I'm glad they at least kept that iconic theme music.
