Even by recent brutal standards of them clowning themselves,  this NYT headline is taking a beating from everyone.

Not sure of advising people to subscribe to the Washington Post or LA Times. Bezos is not trustworthy and doesn't someone questionable own the LA Times now?

Despite that, the LA Times has been far more responsible than the other 2 papers. Our local papers here in Chicago both have their right and left leaning agendas but generally are reasonable and accurate. Well except that the Tribune endorsed Gary Johnson.

A bunch of double talk and condescension. This man needs to be fired and the paper needs a good housecleaning. With all the layoffs, there have to be a lot of people out there who could easily do a better job than he and his team.

The shaming of them is kind of relentless in at least the last six to twelve months, so much that I think a reckoning may actually be coming this time. Their brand of snobbery and insular arrogance re: the norms of journalism is uniquely unsuited to this moment in history. What makes it worse is, there are still a lot of legitimately good journalists on staff and stories the paper breaks.

I called this WAY back when!

From the time that those allegations against Moonves began to publicly surface, I knew it was game over for the idea of keeping the two entities separate. The thumbs-up by Redstone just about says it all.

I keep reading that ViacomCBS, in order to build competitive scale against Disney/Netflix/etc., is looking to acquire properties like AMC Networks, Discovery, AND Sony’s entertainment businesses (which would have Y&R implications, naturally).
