September 12, 20187 yr Member LOL, thanks. New piece on the show: The original @MurphyBrownCBS remains startlingly timely in 2018—which is good news for its upcoming reboot.@aherman2006: https://t.co/uuWpgoUVM7 — The Ringer (@ringer) September 12, 2018 Edited September 12, 20187 yr by Vee
September 12, 20187 yr Member I'd forgotten it ran 10 seasons. I do think there is a certain stridency (not the right word) that dates the early (and best) years, but I feel like we're heading back to that place now, in our culture, so it holds up better.

September 14, 20187 yr Member Big new interview with Bergen and English which also discusses "#MurphyToo": #MurphyBrown reboot star Candice Bergen on filming a #MeToo episode: "In the episode '#MurphyToo,' we have a very in-depth look at the issue — for a 21-minute show. We wanted to look at both generations' perspectives of the huge issue of sexual harassment" https://t.co/r7TlOAAbpx— Hollywood Reporter (@THR) September 14, 2018
September 25, 20187 yr Member I see soap vet Don Scardino. He must be directing the new episodes. God, I wish I was working on this show. Edited September 25, 20187 yr by Khan
September 25, 20187 yr Member Diane English did mention that they intentionally haven't written the last 3 episodes of the season yet in an effort to stay topical. I wonder if Diane will tackle the Les Moonves situation. Though, I guess she probably had a better working relationship with him than Linda Bloodworth Thomason.
September 25, 20187 yr Author Member I'm majorly excited for this! I didn't think I'd ever say that lol
September 25, 20187 yr Member The first big premiere night of the season (last night) was pretty soft ratings-wise, so I’m interested in how this does.
September 25, 20187 yr Member Even if it runs just one season, I'm grateful for the chance to revisit Murphy in these troubling times.
September 25, 20187 yr Member Though, early reviews don't seem very promising. I guess we'll have to see for ourselves how this one does. Rolling Stone: ‘Murphy Brown’ Review: A Crusty Comeback TV Line: Murphy Brown Review: CBS' Sitcom Revival Too Often Feels Like Old News
September 25, 20187 yr Member I frankly expected it to be a bit creaky. I'm still gonna watch and judge for myself. I hope it does well.
September 25, 20187 yr Member Sonia Saraiya likes it, though I generally do not like Sonia Saraiya's opinions: I loved the new MURPHY BROWN! https://t.co/q6uCkUx4AA— sonia saraiya (@soniasaraiya) September 25, 2018
