Same.

Wow.  Brad Kern.  It's a shocker -- and yet, it isn't.  I mean, if you ever watched an episode of "Charmed," you'd know there was some SERIOUS misogyny and objectification going on in the writing.

I hope they take Ivana Trump's advice and get everything.

Unfortunately I thought it came across as naive, especially telling gay men that if they don't have a problem being touched in a bar or a club, they have no self-worth. It's not about self-worth - it's more complicated than that.

The other argument in it, that gay men are too sexual, is as old as the hills. While there is likely some truth to it, the author doesn't do a good enough job explaining the correlation between this and not caring about sexual abuse.

Gay men aren't going to have the same type of reactions to these situations that you will have with a man and a woman. Shaming them for that instead of trying to talk about how the gay community should react (on their own unique terms) is a very bad idea.

The accusations against Hoffman are sickening. And I was reading the comments at AV Club - someone found what they say is Hoffman talking about losing his virginity. It's also sickening. It shows how many of these men are put into this place at such a young age and they go on to cause so much havoc.

I eagerly await pigs like Alec and Rapaport putting on their superhero capes again.

I think you're right that this isn't one-size-fits-all and that the article is a bit too simplistic.

I have heard some very concerning dismissals of many of these women's claims from other gay men placed in these terms. You're right: the dynamics are different between two adult men than between men and women. I would hope that gay men would understand that and not shame these women. (Granted, a lot of people, including other women, are shaming these women. It just speaks to how uncomfortable this discussion is for our society.)

Sadly many gay men are misogynists and treat women like trash, and some are also aggressively sexual with women because they can say they didn't mean anything by it.

Gay men aren't women, there are different power dynamics in things like bar and club situations, so there will be different reactions. And sometimes of course men are inappropriately touched while out and that's wrong, which needs to be discussed.

The sexual abuse and the conditioning in the gay community that tells men they are only worth their bodies and should accept whatever is done to them (or whatever drugs they're offered, or reckless situations they're led into) should also be discussed.

I am glad you're having those conversations with people as I wouldn't know where to begin.

I wish that the person who wrote the article had done a better job - it feels like a wasted opportunity.

You know something? He creeped me out in that movie. I was fine with everyone else - Jessica Lange, Teri Garr, Dabney Coleman, Bill Murray, etc., but something seemed off about Dustin Hoffman. How about that scene where dressed as a woman, he is mauled by George Gaynes' character? 😨😨😨😨😨

Like Dolly Parton said in 9 to 5, it's time to turn all these roosters into hens!!! Now!!!

More Morgan Spurlock fallout. I wonder if he was simply preempting a planned exposé with his confession.

    • I think Evie came in mid 1976 after Rita broke up with Tim because she realized she was leading him on.  And Evie became upset with Rita because she didn't tell her that she had previously dated Tim before she came to town.
    • Please stop, you were wrong, and you know it, now you're trying to back pedal. You even got called out by the DAYS actors/actresses on Twitter for that sh*t. It was disgusting and vile and IMO the family should have taken action against you It was clear the general public did not know about his illness and it was NOT your place to "spill the beans" just because you run a Facebook group, period! TBH IMO @Errol should have banned you ages ago Donna
    • Who went bowling? JFP & Anna? Is there any more to this?
    • Another character driven show with interconnecting plots that make sense. I like that we go from one character, like Sarah, learning that EJ wants to buy the hospital, casually mentioning it to Xander who now has that intel. The only down today was not seeing Steve and Shawn breaking into the lab. I wonder if Dr Poofy Hair will inform EJ about Xander's call. I loved Abe talking to Chanel about losing Isaac and giving her comfort. And helping her voice her fears about Johnny. Kayla standing up to EJ is great. Kayla, freed from Ron, has been great. I am loving all her air time. And Sarah telling her that EJ must be up to something if he wants the hospital is very smart. She would probably clue in to the sepsis research being the big thing if she wasn't choking to death. I assume Felicity messed up the scones and dropped in cleaning fluid or something. Sarah said it tasted weird. They are never getting that honeymoon, are they? Xander has no clue what job Johnny can do. Johnny knows this too. Xander wants to legitimize his takeover by hiring a Dimera. Johnny wants to stick it to EJ. The honesty is refreshing. I want to like Cat and Chad but they are just so awkward. And none of their scenes work for me. Marlena and EJ was very good. I like her wanting to help him but also scared to death for Belle. Makes perfect sense that she is conflicted. I also liked her softly asking Johnny if he needed her to stay once EJ walked in. Ron never cared about this relationship either, but now she is acting like his granny.
    • Sorry, catching up, and the bolded part, yes! Should have been sued by DH's family for that nasty sh*t too   Anywho, back to the show, Kristina is freaking nuts, she needs to be committed ASAP
    • Angry Dante was hot; sorry, but I'm not going to pretend it wasn't awesome seeing Dominic Zamprogna act his ass off in a way that was not crying.
    • Thanks, interesting and so believable (no Lonatrat or Clones...)Instead of the Lewis family he should have made the Oil family Granger...even if the audience didn't remember that one off character it would have been interesting to tie it into the fictional GL world.
    • Dante needs stick removed from his butt
    • When you bring up what I like to call "Shapiro's Folly" you think Dano's acting choices mattered? I ask because I don't think so. As far as I could tell almost universally the ABC fans hated the very idea of her being on all 4 shows! And, BTW, the headwriters also hated it, at least according to comments made by Passanante. But, it is not hard to imagine that they'd feel that way. And, I agreed. If she wanted success she should have planted "Rae" on one & given up her idea of branding, or whatever it was that she was after.
