12 hours ago12 hr Member Happy for OBAA which I loved, but I suspected they would not give it to Sinners which I also loved when they wouldn't give Coogler Best Director (which I would've given him as well as probably Best Picture).Knowing the Academy part of it was the PTA thing, and part of it was the fact that Sinners was on a superficial level a horror movie. Too bad. It's apples and oranges for me but that's where I'm leaving this discourse behind lol. They're both great films.
12 hours ago12 hr Member I am not at all surprised. I figured he was not getting Best Director. And definitely not Best Picture so Best Screenplay was the compromise for that.

The people mad about it are mostly Ariana Grande stans who learned about awards season last year lol, and I say that as someone who enjoyed Ariana in Wicked more than most. She's been hustling in movies since the 70s, never given up even when her career became just guest starring on Law & Order and Criminal Minds, and it's nice to see it pay off for her in this way. And to whoever mention Alamo Bay- I've gone down a deep Madigan rabbit hole recently, and while that movie is a little dated, her and Harris are electric together.Thrilled for Michael B. Jordan and Jessie Buckley.
1 hour ago1 hr Member These are such sweet photos. This would have had a much sourer vibe with Sean Penn (if he would have even taken any photos). The Academy on X: "Best winner portraits ever? Congrats to our acting winners Jessie Buckley, Amy Madigan, and Michael B. Jordan! #Oscars https://t.co/0WRsb0VPy3" / X Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by DRW50
