They act like recommending a  lawyer is tantamount to killing babies. Everyone is going around talking about what Hilary is doing for Juliet, which is nothing, and how evil she is instead of Juliet. It's dumb. And it is definitely damaging ho her character. This constant villainizing for the smallest transgression makes no sense but viewers buy into it. It's very weird. 

 

 

@Taoboi @ranger1rg Lily vs Hilary would be more entertaining if it was organic. But they centered Hilary in a story she should be peripheral in so that they could play Hilary in all these antagonistic scenes. Sure, MiM is good at it but Hilary needs more balance. Every scene written for her for a month shouldn't be her manipulating and arguing with EVERYONE in the Winters family. I'm over her carrying the load for them. It's time to allow someone else in that family to be something other than a lame sanctimonious do gooder. Make Devon a hot mess for a while. Let them fight to save his soul. It's what should have happened after hevon's divorce instead centering Mariah as some go between.

I didn't mind Kelly at all until it was obvious they had her/Stitch reuse the recent backstory of Leslie/Tyler. That just forced me to believe the show was keeping them b/c they were White and easier to assimilate into the canvas.

 

I did think that Kelly had potential early on, but they blew it when they made Stitch her brother. I always felt that the "secret" they were hiding was that Stitch accidentally caused the death of her child (in a medical manner), and Kelly was gonna smear his name b/c of it.  

 

 

I get that show is notorious for using stories over and over again, but this time it didn't go unnoticed by me. We had just wrapped Tyler/Leslie's arc involving their mother, and they were doing the same mess again with Kelly/Stitch. 

 

But to answer your 2nd question, this show no longer invests in WOC or people of color in general.

 

Poor Neil is just wallpaper and has been since 2006 when Dru was killed off.

 

Devon is drab when he should've been made a playboy and a hot mess after inheriting all that money from Katherine.

 

Lily is a damn old maid.

 

Jordan is eye candy, and is still underdeveloped as a character. I still don't care for him after all this time when I want too. We know nothing about him except he had a past with Chelsea, which hasn't been explored since.

 

Hilary is utilized, but she gets nothing outside of being a gossip and bitchy. We don't get to see her hardly ever be vulnerable or establish friendships. Some of the bitchiest vixens in daytime were complex and had friendships. Dorian (on OLTL) had Edwina. Lisa (on ATWT) had a close friendship with Kim. Erica (on AMC) had Opal. Yes, Hilary has a 'friendship' with Jack but we hardly ever see it. She's so damn isolated. It doesn't help either that the show totally forgot that she and Sharon were once close too. 

 

Heck, even Kristen on Days had Jennifer as a friend..even when she turned to the dark side.

 

I'm still bummed Hilary and Chelsea didn't develop into friends after a few scenes of them interacting/getting along were shown.

I tend to think JG had some interference from the higher-ups.  In fact, I think the pressure from them may have led to him experiencing something of a nervous breakdown before he eventually left.

I always thought that was just an excuse for him to leave on his own rather than be fired.

The pressure is always real when it comes to writing. Everyone involved has their own agenda and notes.

Of course, but personally speaking there are different levels. 

I once had someone who practically called me daily to check on my "progress" even though we had previously agreed to scheduled phone meetings.  I had to remind them of what the agreement was and when that seemed to fall on deaf ears, I reminded them of what they were paying in terms of billable hours.

 

There are various explicit and implicit ways one can be pressured.  Also, everyone's mental constitution is not the same.

Facing off against an indie producer is much different from facing off against a machine backed by a network.  Also JG was no Bill Bell Sr. who would've had a lot more leverage as he was the show's creator.

That's pretty much like what we have been discussing with SSM.

 

And I feel going back to her interview and what-not, that she has subtly been mauvering her stories back into the show while doing whatever those people who have been interfering want her to do.

After seeing her with Ravi for months even a bag lady would have more chemistry with Ashley......but yes I saw it too. I wanted a Graham and Ash pairing but I have a feeling they are siblings.

i though Ashley and Graham had chemistry and look great together. Graham is very handsome. His acting isn't the best though. 

Ashley doesn't need anymore businessmen. Especially ones with little to no potential longevity.

I'm not sold on Graham and Ashley yet
