I find the promo a little tacky.

But, on the plus side, it's renewed my love for Carly Simon's music.

I'm good with it. The cast deserves a chance. I'm glad they're getting it.

I guess given the alt-right and racist controversies, making it about "Anticipation" feels off to me. I don't feel like people are anticipating as much as possibly trying one more time.

 

I do feel happy the cast gets another shot, of course.

I guess. It was made too much about politics from the start and Roseanne unfortunately didn't help matters. 

 

It's kind of tacky, but they have to promote the show. I'm glad for the cast but IMO you either keep Roseanne or you move on altogether (I was initially all for "The Conners" but I'm more meh now for whatever reason). But we'll see how it goes.

 

I have a lot of feelings on this one but I've kept them to myself.

Per the release:

“We’re thrilled to welcome the incredibly talented Maya Lynne Robinson to the cast this season,” said showrunner Bruce Helford. “Her character 2nd Lieutenant Geena Conner, whom a younger DJ was reluctant to kiss in his school play, comes full circle as his wife and Mary’s mother, bringing back a little piece of Conner history. Yet, while Geena is no stranger to the family, viewers old and new will enjoy seeing how her ‘military-style’ discipline meshes with the Conners’ more laid-back attitude.”

Wow.  What an interesting nod to history.

Geena was seen briefly on Skype during her tour overseas in the last season, played by a different actress. (I guess I should finish Season 10 now - somewhere...)

I'm excited to see the show in this new form.  I mean the Hogan Family went on for a few seasons after its star was fired.. so it is possible.. plus Darlene/Sara Gilbert was so strong in the 10th season of Roseanne.. that it makes sense to turn the show into an ensemble.. but I hope the directors tell Metcalfe to tone it down (still not happy she was nominated when she really wasn't that funny in season 10).

I'm not sure what she is upset about. If this was a spite killing then they would have done what Chuck Lorre did on Two and a Half Men. This is a realistic way to go.
