Wish they would have brought back Mamie. She could have been visting the Abbots for the holidays.

 

 

Heck, they needed to bring back Miguel too to the Newman Ranch. Those little things really matter!

Hmmm...I'd feel some sort of way if Mamie was only brought back to SERVE  AND visit Abbots when she's got family in that town herself. Bad optics.

Especially since that's pretty much what Y&R had Veronica Redd doing for the latter half of her last return.

Would it bother people if she surprised the Abbots by serving them breakfast as a joke and then went on to visit her own family?

This gives me so much hope. I hope it works out for the show.

 

It would be lovely if Mamie visited to have breakfast with the Abbotts and maybe brought along her famous muffins (I believe it was) before spending the majority of the return with her family. It would be lovely to see her again.

I barely watch now but Ashley seems to be styled very very differently than I remember her being in the '80s or the '00s. She looks more like Kristen Dimera.

Yes. I have no desire to see Mamie serve Abbots.  that's a serious issue for me. She has no reason to still be their domestic. If you want to see her motherly (cooking, serving, passing out advice and warmth), send her over to Lily's to cook Christmas dinner for her own family ad love on nieces and nephews. She can visit the Abbots too. But keep her out of  the kitchen.

What if she dropped off some stuff and then joked "You're old enough to fix it yourself" and left after they all hugged and said hello?

That's what I was thinking and the talk about the good old times and John Abbott. Later Mamie goes to vist her own family and says she is staying in GC. She runs into Jill and they go from there.

That would be nice or a reverse where they served her, but that would only work if she lived in town I guess. Anyway, I just hope we see her at some point. I wonder what the actress is doing.

I don't care for the imagery of after not seeing Mamie in almost a decade, the first images we see of her are serving people who are no longer her employers. It's bad enough that this character was named "Mamie" that has an unfortunate ring of Mammy to it.

Why couldn't Mamie visit her family first?  

 

What "stuff" would she be dropping off though? It's been years! That seems more than a bit contrived.

 

There are many things from Y&R's past history that I'd love to revisit, this idea with Mamie that's being conjured isn't one of them, TBH. It seems stuck in a time warp that I'd rather not return to.

I meant like a bag of donuts or something as a joke. Not family possessions.
