The '70s and the '80s continue to provide us with the best of music, and he is a major reason why. I think I loved the stuff he wrote and produced for others more than anything else. There were conflicting reports back then as to the seriousness of his state of health but I had heard that he back home in a day or two, so I assumed that he was better. I love that he genuinely loved his fans and how he protected his music was something to look up too. Members Soapsuds Posted April 21, 2016 Members Share Posted April 21, 2016 Now he has the numbers 1, 2, 3, 5 and 9 albums on iTunes….and on the singles chart he has the numbers 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 songs….with Purple Rain at #1 single…followed by Little Red Corvette at 2 and When Doves Cry at 3….Kiss at number 5 and Let's go Crazy at 10. They were playing "You Got That Look" with Sheena Easton…had forgotten how GOOD that song was! I think the only artist from the 80s who was able to have more decent material was Madonna.
