He always seemed healthy and full of energy - I didn't know he was recently hospitalized, but still...

 

What a legend. The '70s and the '80s continue to provide us with the best of music, and he is a major reason why. 

 

I think I loved the stuff he wrote and produced for others more than anything else.

I had read he had been hospitalized recently but didn't know what for.  There were conflicting reports back then as to the seriousness of his state of health but I had heard that he back home in a day or two, so I assumed that he was better.

I love alot of his songs. I agree with those saying he was a musical genius. I love that he genuinely loved his fans and how he protected his music was something to look up too. He also seemed like a genuinely nice man

 

My favorite song of his is "KISS"

There have been rumors about Prince's health dating back to the '90s and his religious conversion. I don't know what's true but the reports of "flu like symptoms" a few days ago are very suspicious. In any event it is a terrible loss.

Purple Rain is #3….CNN was talking to a female in LA who spent 166 dollars in Prince music…..

Isn't this just crazy? I can't even come up with words. 

Now he has the numbers 1, 2, 3, 5 and 9 albums on iTunes….and on the singles chart he has the numbers 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 songs….with Purple Rain at #1 single…followed by Little Red Corvette at 2 and When Doves Cry at 3….Kiss at number 5 and Let's go Crazy at 10.

They were playing "You Got That Look" with Sheena Easton…had forgotten how GOOD that song was!

I can't believe it, I just can't. In shock. 

 

Even though he hasn't released decent material in years IMO, at his peak he was a true genius and extremely influential. 

I think the only artist from the 80s who was able to have more decent material was Madonna.

CNN is reporting that he was found in the elevator at his place.
