I guess I should mention one story I liked...

Molly's return story on ATWT, in 2010, when she was with Holden knowing she would in his heart be second choice, and finally deciding to stop after seeing that Abigail was having an affair and settling for second choice, just as Molly had unwittingly taught her over the years.

It's probably the only good story I can remember from her, and one of the few I can remember from ATWT's last 15 years on the air.

Passanate stories that I like with her at ATWT?

-The Gwen/Jennifer baby switch umbrella story

-The 2009 return of Adam Munson. It was sloppy but at least was her one real family drama story that worked.

-Henry and Barbara pairing. Or was that during Kriezman's stint?

At Y&R:

-Actually didn't mind the Russell family drama and mystery.

-Writing out Chloe by having go postal and act like the true sociopath she is.

That's about it. Her AW stint was bad, the vast majority of her ATWT stint was lousy and in spite of some moments here and there was always a deficiency. She got by at ATWT by largely coasting off of Sheffer's best work(which a lot was mediocre to begin with) and throwing in a few of her own ideas (Luke and Noah for example). However she lacked any sort of vision for long term storytelling and lacked respect for the history of ATWT just like Sheffer did. She fell into those lame villain of the month stories a lot(Z twins anyone?) too often.

She was out of her league at Y&R. Y&R stint was better and unoffensive compared to MAB and Latham, but overall substandard and forgettable.

So many to choose from?  Apparently not, based on what I've read in this thread so far.  Overall, I am not familiar with either woman's work, but, while I'll say I've seen a slight improvement in GH as of late, it was not the monumental improvement that say, Doug Marland did when he took over headwriting at GH, or for another example, Claire Labine.  Perhaps the current headwriters could benefit from a solid story consultant, in the vein of Pete LeMay.  Of course, from the looks of things, GH is already having trouble finding money, so a story consultant would probably be a nice daydream but nothing the show could afford financially to have.

If she created ATWT's Reid Oliver, than I would have to say that is probably the best out of what I have seen of her work. But even aspects of the Reid/Luke romance, were spotty and almost paint by numbers in their approach.

She sounds like the kind of writer where actors have to try really hard to salvage the material and make something work. I am reminded of the David/Dixie pairing and how Cady and Vincent were able to more or less, make the storyline "work", but overall it was a badly written story.

Reid Oliver is an extremely overrated character imo. I didn't find him very interesting.

For me the ''best'' part of Pissy's reign was the second half of 2009 with Barbara/Henry affair, Holden disappearing (albeit for the 3000th time), Noah going blind and Meg going crazy.

My favorite character created during her reign was Jade Taylor hands down. I stanned for that desperate girl.

I almost quit watching in early 2005 because it had gone [!@#$%^&*] and only realized years later that's exactly when Jean P took over. Suddenly Carly had a half-sister? That awful storyline with Luke's kidney transplant... Keith just being there at all... ew..

    • I don't think she is. I think she just created some really boring characters and for some reason doesn't know what to do with them.  But let's say that she is being force to write these characters that she doesn't like or want to write for.......that's a really bad sign that the creator of the show is being told what to do from the very beginning.  With so many EPs, I was worried there could be too many cooks in the kitchen, too many people giving notes - all those EPs are representing companies who have a stake in the show.    Canada continues to be one episode ahead. Thursday's US episode is another lacklustre episode, even with Leslie in it.  We'll see if Friday or Monday's episode in Canada will be a repeat.
    • Like a lot of soaps, once relatives left, they kinda dropped off the face of the earth and out of conversations. I don't know why writers do that. If they just don't want to confuse viewers, or don't think it matters, or want the liberty kind of revise history to make their stories work. After Josh left in '84, he's barely mentioned. Even when Billy's railing against Kyle and refusing to accept him, it'd be the most natural thing in the world to say "Kyle's NOT by brother, JOSH is!" and I don't think he ever really says that.  The only writer I can recall who didn't do that is Doug Marland on ATWT.
    • IIRC, there is a line during this time period where Reva says something like Marah is her first-born child, which fans were not thrilled with.  Dylan makes a few appearances through the rest of the show (and a much later recast that isn't really worth talking about, with a face that is familiar to you). He will make one briefly during 1997, if you get that far.
    • Another great episode.  GH has been pretty good this year, loading up the chamber, because now there's many bullets to fire, and another one was fired today when Nina found out Michael is the father of Sasha's baby.  I hope this secret comes out at the hearing.  I've also liked the slow burn with Gio/Emma. There's just so many things to look forward to on this show now.  GH is finally back to being really good.
    • I'm all for it. Get them Nina!

    • I am blown away that Christie Clark is 51, and she debuted 39 years ago. They gave her a lovely script today.  But, I could not think of any other examples in culture of someone able to jump right back into the skin of a character, after virtually retiring from acting years ago. I was trying to recall if Carrie left for a bit with Anna after Roman died (because she wasn't at Bo & Hope's wedding), and then returned as a pre-teen Christie?  Or if she was just SORASed off-screen?  But, whenever I see the character I am reminded how much more trauma she's endured than Sami, and yet she remains such a nice person.
    • Weirdly I feel like Nina was the most sus about the entire situation.  Normally I would have given this one to Carly, but Nina was always kind of trying to make it make sense. I think Nina (and Alexis) are actually really smart characters.  They just constantly get in their own way with dumb plans lol.
    • Rewatching some of 1991 I had to appreciate what a strong week March 5-12 1991 was. Cassandra dies, Nina shoots David, Sheila switces the babies, and drunk Nikki all occurring simultaneously. 1991 and 92 were pretty strong overall.
    • Still loving all the Gio fallout, but the scenes that really surprised me this episode were the ones with Nina and Maxie. I was not expecting Nina to be the one to put together all the pieces about Sasha's baby daddy. This custody hearing is about to get explosive!
    • I really hope after the secret comes out their interactions don't stop
