October 26, 201411 yr Member More news from CBS. They will be joining in on having a free, over-the-air diginet channel that features their classic library. It's coming next spring and they'll do retrospectives and themed marathons as well. Here in NY it will be channel 2.2. Now this I'm looking forward to!http://www.cbscorporation.com/news-article.php?id=1100 Edited October 26, 201411 yr by applcin
October 26, 201411 yr Member I'm looking forward to this too. I wonder if they'll do something on Norman Lear-- didn't many of his shows originally air on CBS? Or does Lear own the rights to the shows he produced?
October 26, 201411 yr Author Member Sony owns the rights to Norman's shows. Right now, Antenna TV has on a lot of his shows (since they have access to the Sony library)...AITF, Good Times, Maude, Sanford & Son and they're starting The Jeffersons and One Day at a Time next year. I'm thinking we're going to see more of the stuff owned or distributed by CBS Productions, Paramount, Desilu, etc., since they mention Star Trek, I Love Lucy, Perry Mason, Happy Days, Cheers...all of which are owned by one of those. I wonder how it'll affect stations like Me-TV who are currently airing a lot of those shows. And they say it won't be like a consistent schedule....curious to see how that will work out. On the one hand, you don't get bored with the same reruns recycling so soon (like Antenna TV) but then if it's a show you like, you want to know when it's going to be on! I love seeing these new retro diginet substations pop up. I'm still hoping one day someone will devote a substation to classic soaps. Edited October 26, 201411 yr by applcin
October 27, 201411 yr Member I'm not seeing anything that isn't on about 5 other networks already! Come correct with the damn soaps!

October 27, 201411 yr Member I'm not seeing anything that isn't on about 5 other networks already! Come correct with the damn soaps! Daytime or nighttime? When I read this I immediately started to hope to see some classic ATWT, GL or even Y&R or some other daytime drama that aired on CBS. Then I remembered how often soap fans get our hopes dashed (Soap Classics, anyone) and then immediately decided not even to think about for another moment. If it happens, I'd be over the moon but I'm not holding my breath for that one.
October 28, 201411 yr Member If this means Dynasty and Melrose Place back on TV, I'm there!! Ditto on both!
January 15, 201510 yr Author Member Some new info on Decades, set to start in May. Bill Kurtis is going to take us "Through The Decades" in a daily series. Nice, I like his style, he's a likable host and he's so good at documentaries.http://www.robertfeder.com/2015/01/15/bill-kurtis-to-guide-viewers-through-the-decades/ Edited January 15, 201510 yr by applcin
January 16, 201510 yr Member I'm looking forward to this network. I hope one of my local affiliates picks it up.
January 16, 201510 yr Member I hope I get it fast, I have a few over the air channels now, so this shouldn't take long to get
January 16, 201510 yr Member Me too. I get almost all of them (Movies! THIStv, Cozi, Bounce, ME-TV, Antenna TV, Heartland, Grit, Escape), well, the important ones, and even some random ones, so hopefully I get it.
January 16, 201510 yr Member Do we have a schedule yet? As of right now, I get This, Antenna, Me, and Bounce. I'd love to get Aspire for Julia and...shudder...The Bill Cosby Show.
January 16, 201510 yr Member I forget about Aspire. I wish I got Retro again, just for the Doctors, but I can watch the uploads so it's not a big loss to me. I haven't seen a schedule yet for Decades. I wish these networks would start adding soaps, even the primetime ones ... I'd love an over the air all soap network. Someone needs to make that one happen, lol Edited January 16, 201510 yr by KMan101
