Yeah, it was not as in-depth an interview as the Fenn one, though obviously Sherilyn Fenn is a loopy force of nature who never stops gabbing. The crowdfunding thing is embarrassing to discuss, if sweet, and not going to happen. If this happens it'll happen internally - according to Fenn, who spoke to Lynch a day or so ago, he and the network are talking and he endorses the cast's efforts, so we'll see. I wish they'd talked to him about some of the actual questions posed; I know some of the FB commenters asked about stuff like the Audrey/Ben subplot Bobby got snared into, which neither he nor Fenn apparently liked. I actually loved their chemistry and Bobby in that world, but I was glad it ended where it did.

Interview with James Marshall, who is a significantly smarter guy than James Hurley. He talks a lot about some of James' most memorable moments (yes, there were some), the cut storyline with his mother, the dreadful Evelyn storyline, FWWM and so on. I have a lot of time for James and Donna in Season 1, where they really are sort of the pure counterpoint to the darkness, a la Laura Dern and Kyle MacLachlan's romance in Blue Velvet. Also, Marshall looks amazing these days.

Still not sure what this is about, or just why he was so unpopular.

Oh, come on! You have nice things to say about some of the absolutely worst dreck of season 2 but the Evelyn story is 'dreadful'? LMAO!

I'm gonna need to see some receipts on that because Googling hasn't revealed any such thing.

I like the hair. I just think he's much more attractive as an older man.

I wish you the best of luck finding boosters for the Evelyn Marsh storyline. According to Annette McCarthy (Evelyn) she and Marshall were literally drunk on-camera during portions of it (there is a champagne scene).

No wonder he's become so unbelievably thin. I don't think he looks bad at all, I just was trying to figure out where the 'amazing' part came in. :P

Well, I really don't need luck because I did think it was a pretty bad story, as well (which I, inexplicably, still have some affection for, for some reason). I'm just saying, I found it funny that you find nice things to say about some other stuff but the Evelyn story is where you drew the line!

Where they really drunk? That sort of makes me like it more! (and could explain some things).

The Evelyn story is where most people draw the line, I've found. As far as it goes, I'm with Harley Peyton and Bob Engels - I think it was a good idea on paper, a classic film noir setup (it's almost exactly the plot of Otto Preminger's legendary Angel Face, with Robert Mitchum and Jean Simmons) but they had the wrong actress and the wrong lead actor (Marshall), and the wrong setting (outside town).

I loved Robyn Lively enough that I tolerated it. That whole subplot certainly played a lot less well this last time I watched, but she was fun. I also was a lot more tolerant of Heather Graham's almost non-acting as Annie, and the thing with Cooper - I thought they just pulled that off for the most part, largely through the writing and her charisma, which has covered for Graham's abilities as an actress many times throughout her career. But I also don't think it was anything but an ultimately doomed whirlwind romance which would not last. I know Lynch seemed to really like her when he came back in for the back end.

There is a typically well-done ABC TP promo floating around online for one of those very episodes with Lana's silly storyline. It was kind of a pity to see them expending the energy on it. I'll see if I can find it.

Meanwhile, here's a UK commercial from 1991 for Ruffles potato chips. Featuring Kyle MacLachlan. These Ruffles are darn fine crisps!

Oh, and yeah, that's Susan Lucci and Finola Hughes in the TV movie promo. Wow, I wish I could've seen them together.

I forgot to say thanks for posting those ads a page or two back. I'd seen the photo of Kyle and Madchen doing the thumbs up for the camera, with Dana scowling in the background, but had never known it was from a Gulf War ad.

    • Good Morning, this is still funny to me but I totally enjoyed what makes up "DemetriKane" so unnecessary, who cares?!!! Glad you like the Emma Peel derivative story.
    • Christian Streaty penned today's Day's script. https://www.linkedin.com/in/christian-streaty/
    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
