The SON baby

  • Members

Just a little thread to keep the people interested informed about the SON baby. :-) I'm 13 weeks along and due on April 8th. I had the new genetic testing (MaterniT21) done because I'm over 35. It's just a simple blood draw, that's less invasive than an amnio. Luckily, is well on that front.

You can also find out the gender of the baby with this new test. I'm having a boy. I'm a little nervous about that, since I guess being a woman I just feel like I have more of a sense of how to parent a girl, but I guess I'll figure it out.

Thanks to the people who've asked about how I'm feeling and who have wished us well. I really appreciate it. I'm feeling pretty good now that I'm out of the first trimester. Still a little tired, but I was lucky and didn't have terrible morning sickness. Mostly what I'm hoping for is things to stay uneventful for the next six months.

If anyone has name ideas, I'm open to suggestions. Right now, Elijah is in the running.

Congratulations! This is wonderful news. :) Please keep us updated!

As for names, I have always been partial to Colin or Connor.

YO. Stop judging my name choices!!!! laugh.pngtongue.png

What matters is what Julia thinks SON's baby name should be and I am determined to provide enough options, dammit!

Colin. That's a name you don't see too much anymore but I like it. Aloisius is a good name too that fell out of favor, and his nickname can be Al. I guess it depends on the last name. You might want to go ancient greek and something like Xerxes!

I am glad its going well.

What about "Jack"? I think "Jack" is a good name. :)

Congrats, Julia!

We are not naming this child after a French mime or a letter of the alphabet. Next!

LMAO! The one place people should never ask about baby names is on a board filled with TV fans, let alone soap fans. Left to our devices he'll get named something like Palmer or Asa.

Congrats!! Since I co-created SON, and this is our first baby, how about Toups for a middle name? wink.pngbiggrin.png

Could be worse than Toups, like say, Taylor Swift...wink.png

Thanks for all of the well wishes and name ideas. I will definitely keep you updated. My next appointment isn't until October 23. I'll post a sonogram picture when we're a little further along. Right now you can't see a lot on the picture they print, although during the actual 12 week sonogram I could see his head.

If he was named after me (Spencer) I would be so damn proud!!!!! ;'-) LOL

Spencer is one of my top choices.

Aloisius is a good name too that fell out of favor, and his nickname can be Al

This was one of my grandfather's middle names. I've always liked it. I'm not worried about people knowing the baby's last name. It will be Winograd (the father's clan are Russian Jews).

Jack is one of my favorite names, but it's also the name of our pug.

When I thought the baby could be a girl, I was thinking of naming her Mauve, after Mauve Ryan. :-) There are a ton of good soap names for girls. Soaps have been a big part of my life, so I have no shame in using a soap name.

I'm half tempted to name this child Elijah Jack (E.J.) Winograd.
