Oh, dear.

May the Lord be with her and her loved ones.

That is so sad! I recently bought some old Y&R episodes/edits on DVD and they include a lot of her. I had always hoped they would one day bring her back. I hope she rests in peace!

I had no clue she'd been on Broadway. She's really the only Leslie I remember, and to my preteen mind, she was always so effortlessly classy and elegant sitting behind that piano and playing.

I'm sorry to hear this. I have barely seen any of her time on Y&R, but she was a stunning woman and visually I can see where she fit the style of Bill Bell and Conboy's Y&R. When you look at her, even in a grainy B&W photo, you pause for a moment. She looked like a goddess.

Veleka Gray (Lyla Montgomery #1)

I love that melodramatic dialogue and line reading, "Will you do this for your sister?"

I have some articles on her somewhere in my computers. I'll try to post them if I find them.

I wasn't too familiar with her work on Y&R either, but thank you for posting that video of her singing. What a gorgeous, ethereal voice. RIP.

Victoria Mallory and another soap star gone too young, Sherry Mathis (Liza, SFT), were both cast in Stephen Sondheim's "A Little Night Music" on Broadway in 1973. I think Sherry ended up playing Victoria's role once Victoria left the production.

Someone casually mentioned this on Facebook under a picture of Brenda Dickson and she seemed pretty shocked. Here's what she said:

I AM SHOCKED...SHE WAS ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO BE AROUND ,THE PERFECT LADY,SO POLITE AND LOVELY.SHE IS WITH THE ANGELS NOW... IT ALWAYS BREAKS MY HEART WHEN ONE OF MY CAST MATES PASSES.SHE WAS SO YOUNG.ALWAYS THE PERFORMER . EVERYONE LOVED HER ON THE SET.

I wonder if we'll hear from other other co-stars. I just watched an episode where Lorie tells Leslie she knows that Leslie is pregnant with Lance's child and she was a very good Leslie.

This from Janice Lynde:

" The Universe is always circling, in it's unfathomable paths of Synchonicity. Not until about ten years ago, did Victoria & I cross Paths Out of the "blue". i got a call from her. She had talked to my dear friend and mentor , Joan Darling. Victoria and Mark were moving to LA from Park looking for an acting coach for her daughter, Ramona, and Joan had said there was only one...Janice Lynde. We had a wonderful lunch, connected easily, sharing fond memories and experiences of our shared soul of "Leslie". I told her I was always grateful, she had carried "Leslie" on with the Dignity I always believed was at the Heart of the character. She and her husband, Mark, brought Ramona to her first session with me & entrusted me with her next phase of training. I was honored & humbled. Ramona, a huge talent and spirit in her own right, blossumed & after almost 3 years, i felt she belonged in NYC, where her musical & acting talents would be most valued, (the path, both her mother & I had taken.) "Let Hollywood bring you when they know they need you", was my philosophy. I loved them all, like family, even tho' our time was brief. They moved back to NYC, (I'm sure for more reasons than I knew). The last time I saw them was in NYC. I'd finished a film in Europe, and wanted to see A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, since I would be playing Desiree in years to come. As I read the program, I saw Ramona's name. She was making her Broadway debut in the role Victoria had created many years before, & met here father Mark.! I sent a note backstage...It was Ramona's Birthday, & Victoria & Mark were in the audience. We had a glorious celebration of Life, Love, Birthdays, & the Remarkable Connections we'd experienced. I have a deep abiding love for the time we spent together, and profoundly feel a connection with Victoria, Mark & Ramona...their extraodinary family! Blessings!"
