Is the show really that bad? I haven't seen it at all, I'm afraid.

I've seen better, but I love Alyssa Milano so I watch. Lots of former soap actors in the supporting cast. Jason George[sUN], Jason Gerhart[GH], Justin Hartley[PAS], and the actress that played Padilla on GH. It's good summer fluff.

On SoapBox with Lilly & Martha today Michael Bruno said that for Adam Newman Y&R had feelers out to Tom Welling (Smallville), Jason Lewis (Sex & The City) & Gale Harold (Queer as Folk)

When asked how that would fly given that two of them (Gale & Jason) are too old (45/43), Bruno says YR would have done a throw away line about him looking older after all he has been thru

Bruno states that YR wants fallen prime time actors for their roles and its been hard on their Casting Judy Wilson to make it happen sometimes

Bruno says Hartley was a great choice but maintains that YR always were thinking well if we need to we can bring back Muhney if we just give it more time

Tom Welling? Srsly? Well, I guess if you're going up to bat, you might as well swing for the fences.

Welling does seem like a reach.

When you say YR wants primetime stars, who do you mean. JFP and her team, Sony, or CBS.

Michael Bruno just said Y&R

Yeah I can't see Welling doing a soap, that's a huge stretch. I think MF sometimes pulls this stuff out of his arse

It was from soap agent Michael Bruno, not Michael Fairman

No, I can believe that JFP and her team would put out feelers to someone like Welling. They're just egotistical and delusional enough to do that. Plus, thanks to her previous associations with James Franco, JFP probably looks at herself now as a heavy-hitter within the industry. But Tom Welling on a soap opera? Not even after all the "Smallville" love fades and he's competing with Dean Cain and Ian Ziering to appear in the movies made at The Asylum! He'd sign onto another primetime show before coming to work in daytime.

I cant believe they considered Gale Harold. Great actor but way too old

In their minds, he is a perfect fit. I mean, after all, doesn't the audience just love "mature" leads. (Yes, that is shade about other things discussed in this thread).

Well, if that's true, then good for them (the cast). Shame on the network/TPTB for even considering it & Sharon Case.,.. sit your ass DOWN on this one, boo.
