May 10, 201411 yr Administrator Fresh Off The Boat: Discussion Thread FRESH OFF THE BOAT - It’s the 90s and 11 year old, hip-hop loving Eddie (Hudson Yang) just moved to suburban Orlando from DC’s Chinatown with his parents (Randall Park and Constance Wu). It’s culture shock for his immigrant family in this comedy about pursuing the American Dream. “Fresh Off the Boat” is based on Chef Eddie Huang’s memoir Fresh Off the Boat. “Fresh Off the Boat” stars Randall Park as Louis, Constance Wu as Jessica, Hudson Yang as Eddie, Forrest Wheeler as Emery and Ian Chen as Evan. “Fresh Off the Boat” was written by Nahnatchka Khan, who also serves as executive producer. Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar are executive producers, and Eddie Huang is producer. The series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television.
May 11, 201411 yr Member On second thought, ABC, just stick with the one-word titles. You know, before anyone gets hurt? Jesus.
May 12, 201411 yr Member Is ABC trying to be "edgy" with racist titles? Good point, I really hope they change Black-ish's title.
May 13, 201411 yr Member Full Trailer: Paul Lee done lost his goddamn mind! HORRID title but the trailer made me laugh a lot, especially the mom. The mom is funny, but she belongs on another show! 1 1/2 eppies tops! For the 1/2 eppy, Obama interrupts for whatever reason, and we never see this show again!
May 14, 201411 yr Member Fresh of the Boat? More like Fresh of Last Year's Rejected Pilots. I also like the mom though.
May 14, 201411 yr Member Oh, Lord. I don't know what that says about the slate of upcoming comedies from ABC, lol.
May 15, 201411 yr Member ABC change the title but the creator did a campaign to change it back to Fresh Off The Boat, it base on his memoir. Here is the tweets from the creator http://www.policymic.com/articles/89295/abc-s-new-sitcom-wants-to-challenge-one-of-tv-s-biggest-stereotypes Edited May 15, 201411 yr by miche
