I think all/most of us love/enjoy him exactly for what he is...

Considering Ray Wise's long career and various projects I can understand Braeden not knowing...Twin Peaks was 20 years ago.

I have to wonder if that was some shade. Didn't Wise replace him on How I Met Your Mother?

It could be, but honestly, this is Eric Braeden. I don't think he pays attention to anything outside of his immediate field of Braeden-Vision.

I agree! EB does not strike me as someone who plays games to shade RW. How many can say they know who RW is? Thank God he's on YR now and Ian needs to be out of jail, but is it really impossible for EB to not know what Ray has done prior to YR?

Ray Wise is a pretty well-renowned character actor, but I think most of the general public wouldn't know the name - they'd just know him as Leland Palmer from Twin Peaks or "that guy" from any number of things.

Of course, there's the general public and then there's Eric Braeden - I think he's long since been removed from even the general public's regular consciousness. He just doesn't know. He's on Eric Standard Time.

It's not whether he knows or not, it's what he says and how he comes across. There are ways to not appear dismissive of others and communicate that you are not familiar with their career.

Guys, please, for the Love of God. He was just joking and poking fun at himself. Or it wouldn't have gotten typed into the interview.

I don't expect him to know who Ray Wise is because of Wise's career, I just remember how heated he was about that HIMYM mess, complete with Twitter war with Neil Patrick Harris. So I just assume he might have known the name of the guy who replaced him.
