Dubai fascinates and scares me. An ultimate soap city with its glamour and wealth, yet the looming fear of being arrested and jailed for kissing and holding hands with your girlfriend in public.

Good Lord! B&B's international deal is so lucrative and keeps giving more and more stunning returns, even now in soaps' toughest days. For better or worse they keenly understand what the international market wants and expects from American soaps.

LOL, yes, I think that sometimes. It has incredibly permissive sections (mostly to do with tourists) and all this incredible bling and wealth, but then it also has religious laws for its citizens which are strict by western standards but not nearly as strict as in Saudi Arabia or Iran.

The other day I was walking to work through one of the royal parks, and I saw a sweet young couple, clearly from the Gulf states. She was wearing a white scarf over her hair; it was like a '60s beehive on her head because of her hair piled up underneath it. They held hands and then, because they had to part ways, they leaned in for... the sweetest, shyest, slightly awkward and yet most heartfelt hug. They were practically blushing about doing this in public. It was really sweet.

Ahem! Back to B&B! If they draft in Michael Stich to direct, this is going to be visually stunning. BTW, all three actors look phenomenal in that photo call, particularly KKL and DD. Diamont never ages!

Thanks Aback!

That was a really nice interview, leisurely, they gave B&B a good 15-20 minutes of screentime. I also thought the two interviewers had done their research, and clearly the female interviewer is a long-time, and unapologetic, fan of the show. TK, KKL and DD all have nice chemistry with each other and even though TK is clearly uncomfortable with big interviews, KKL and DD took up the relay seamlessly. By far the best interview I have ever seen KKL give. She was relaxed and gracious. Can't believe she raced a triathlon the day before!

This is what I love about Brad and B&B - KKL has a personal vacation in an exotic location and Brad sees an opportunity. Moreover, it speaks volumes about KKL that rather than seeing an imposition, she is not only willing to do the location shoots, but also the promo. While, storywise, B&B has been inconsistent over the years (or retreads), the liberal use of location/outdoor/studio lot scenes, really gives a look and feel that distinguishes it from the other daytime soaps.

Yes, it's obviously a wedding variation on typical female dress in Abu Dhabi. As a result, I think in the context of the story and the locale, it will be entirely appropriate.

...unlike that SATC 2 film which was unnecessarily insulting towards Abu Dhabi, I thought. Even if you don't live that strictly at home, when in another country, you have to respect some of the customs...
