For the first time I got a pull for a positive re: Robin' dilemma when she says she knows how it feels to be held captive with no one looking for you then Patrick says something like because we thought you were dead and Robin goes exactly. Also her reasoning that Jason saved her back then when she didn't want to save herself encouraging her with the cocktail and all that..she wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him....

Color me shocked, that for once, RC's trying to sell some very complex motivations driving a character.

Her powerful, kickazz parents been once again rendered powerless to help her out of a dilemma because a near omnipotent villain holds all the cards. Again. Anna already proved powerless to stop Victor from freeing her captor, who then assumed control over Robin's beloved hospital. Not surprisingly she just lost it when Dr. O taunted her because Robin's a control freak who hasn't had a lick of control over her own life the past two traumatic years.

Now Victor throws in her face the fact once strong Jason been rendered a captive, too. Just like she was. This is a classic case of over-identification with another captive. Her run-in with Danny helped feed the over-identification as she saw herself kept from her own child.

If Robin doesn't try to save Jason, she's failing him but also herself. Kevin could've have explained this to Patrick in under 30 minutes. It's that obvious. But unfortunately, her behavior is being reduced to simplistic choosing Jason's dick over Patrick due to their complicated history.

I saw nothing about those scenes as PTSD. This is typical Robin as Patrick mentioned when she risked her life to save Jason's 3 years ago. She wasn't going to go save him until she had that scene with Danny in the park. That wasn't about her seeing herself captive. Robin looks perfectly sane to me and nothing about her since she returned has suggested she had PTSD

Unfortunately, daytime TV has so over-dramaticized PTSD, unless the character is reduced to a walking basket case, viewers don't believe they have been traumatized.

Denial of irrational behavior, over-identification with fellow victims and a tortured sense of helplessness are the signs here.

It was actually 2 not 3 years ago this week that Robin ran back to the lab for Jason's cure. That was more reckless than a willful act of risking her life.

RH and LW are really good as onscreen mothers and very believable.

At first I read this as you trying to say that Roger Howarth is a believable mother figure.

I find him very handsome and I sort of like that he does not have classically perfect/typical Hollywood features. Everyone on TV always has a perfectly tiny nose (no doubt thanks to surgery in many cases) and he has this real nose and real skin coloring, and he isn't blond and so on and so forth.

You can have offbeat features and still wash and comb your hair.

Robin's not being written or seen as a "heroine" in this situation and I'm not focused on where this puts Sabrina. I'm focused on how this establishes Jason and Emma's places in Robin's priorities/places in her life, mind and heart.

The problem is Ron doesn't care about those priorities. He cares about Sabrina. He wants you to cry for her. If this story helps that happen, then that's the goal.

I had heard something about the show supposedly choosing not to re-up Kim at this time, but I personally have a hard time believing that claim. I think they're just that dim when it comes to managing the time she had available. If she really only had five months, Robin should have been unveiled to her family by mid-November at the latest.

I doubt it, I think Kim just wanted a driveby visit. She is focused on her directing career.

I can take a little joke, but most of the time these days it comes off passive-aggressive to anyone who dares complain or critique.

It's not even a story. It's just stalling until a reveal. There are no stakes. There's nothing. I imagine Lulu might get [!@#$%^&*] by Det. Mannequin and then that will be the next shocking secret, and maybe Nik will [!@#$%^&*] Liz for another shocking secret, but those aren't stories either.

Well said. There is no story, no heart, here. It's plot point, stall, next plot point, stall etc. Pathetic. It is baffling to me that a soap, a genre I've long-defended for being able to connect you emotionally with the characters on a day to day basis, can be so hollow and cheap. Part of it is definitely the over-crowded canvas of 50+ characters.

See this fascinates me. I honestly don't believe that RC is capable of writing something with the depth you describe. I'd give anything for him to prove me wrong. I may check out those scenes on YouTube.

GH is a campfest under RC. It's like watching Are You Being Served? only, GH isn't funny.

They actually had Robin address what Ron sees as "his haters" on social media, who had been dogging him about not writing re: Robin's trauma and pain after her ordeal. He kept scoffing on Twitter that no one wanted to watch scenes about that stuff, basically, and then he finally inserted a very hamhanded scene a few weeks ago where Robin casually explains to Patrick and Anna, as part of a totally unrelated conversation, that she does not have PTSD at all, not to worry audience, let's move on.

So no, it's not PTSD. They made it explicit in the dialogue that she does not have it and then dropped it because they have absolutely no interest in that angle.
