There was a LOT dropped during AMC's final years:

TPTB had Liza have an affair with Tad's long-lost son/her daughter's boyfriend, and then just DROPPED IT instead of playing on the history these characters had.

Height had nothing to do with why Reggie went off to play basketball

They acknowledged it they just didn't drag it out.

How about AMC giving Adam a long lost son in the form of Miguel and NEVER bringing the boy to town! I really thought they just should have made him Asher and reveal that Adam wasn't the father but rather Caleb was. It seemed as if they could have done that as as things seemed to fit but they went left with this story and never tied Asher to Miguel even though his mother was the same Sonia Reyes that Adam and Caleb fought over. Made no sense to me, even if DC was gone.

In 2002 or so, ATWT had a controversial storyline where Julia (the one played by Annie Parisse) raped Jack. If I remember correctly, the rape occurred after she put on Carly's lingerie and after she forced Jack to take Viagra. I believe that she also had held Jack hostage during this whole time and had him tied to a chair (as she was raping him).

I was pretty sure that Julia then became pregnant with Jack's baby, but then I don't ever remember hearing about this story again. (I wasn't watching everyday, so it is possible the storyline was tied up logically, but I am assuming that the story was just dropped.)

that was my impression as well. They just left Miguel as a dangling plot line, never mentioning him again never fully explaining it. I remember pointing out the inconsistencies that were made as they tried to explain Caleb's backstory

YES! I never understood that at all. Miguel's very existence made no sense when you consider the lengths Adam has gone to in order to have biological children and have those children in his life. I just assumed Asher would be Miguel, and the whole story just made no sense and then fell apart with a convenient quick addiction to send Asher and Caleb away.

A lot of people pointed it out. They set the foundation down for the story and wrote something completely different.

Julia sent Jack a positive pee stick. She then showed up at Jack and Carly's first wedding (Oct 31 2002) and presented him with his son right after they said "I do". Carjack spent their honeymoon night with the squalling thing. Carly spent the next two months fighting her disgust of the thing (and her guilt over screwing Mike the night before she said her vows---Jack had called off the wedding and then called it back on...sigh) until of course she accepted him---then they found out Julia had kidnapped the kid and they returned him to his rightful parents.

Of course, by that time, Carly realized she was pregnant, but didn't know if Jack or Mike was the father. After six more months of sturm and drang, they remarried and Jack was the papa.

Trust me, that story was not dropped.

I also Liked Hunter on ATWT andI dont get why he was made Emily's son & Allison's brother only to drop him without any mention after Jan 2010

I never understood why they gave Emily another son anyway. The actor was fine---it was just sort of a stupid story that really trashed Larry for no real reason (as if his absentee status in Alison's life wasn't enough of a character assassination) and went nowhere, even when Hunter was on. Emily got another kid to ignore as she panted after Dusty and/or Paul. Big whoop.

I mostly think Hunter's story got dropped in the wake of the cancellation.

Plus Alex Chando (Maddie) wasnt gonna renew after her six month contract ended
