I wish they'd just kill Shawn off. He's always been an awful character and nothing more than a black Jason

moRon and I had a conversation about this - well, maybe not a conversation. But I guess we know where the other stands! Look at the addition of these characters, yet TJ's mother has not made an appearance [who honestly does not believe that if TJ were anything but black, his mother would have shown up to make his life, Shawn's life and everyone else's life miserable]. Why not tie an old love of Shawn's in with the Jeromes, so that he would have his own beef with The Naked Mobster? Ugh!

I swear I read somewhere somewhat legitimate that they were casting for the part of TJ's mom but that has clearly been scrapped. There were all those rumors that either Sean or Tequan were in the way out too in the mob war so perhaps if they're now sure both will be staying, they will start casting for her again.

Did the amazing black women who lights up a room and has chemistry with everyone ever show up?

Ron and Frank decided a while back that they can just pretend stories are still active no matter how long they drop them.

I understand the budgetary impetus behind that kind of story rotation, but it's gone way beyond the pale both on GH and in the last couple of years they had on OLTL. When they started their regime at OL you would go a week or two without a couple people being featured much and it was a healthy system - they also stockpiled a lot of vet guarantees, like Erika Slezak, Hillary Smith, etc. so that they could bring them on great guns during key sweeps material while parceling them out carefully when they needed to. In the meantime the characters who were being downshifted for a couple weeks would get a day or two in that timeframe. But for a long time, it never felt imbalanced. Until it eventually tipped over, and they've never recovered from that.

I'm sure a big part of it is budget, but an equal part of it at this point IMO is the way Ron's work is structured. He can no longer manage that many characters and stories, so he just shuttles them off indefinitely and expects a day or a line or two here or there to be enough for the audience to believe there is still some sort of "arc" in play for the characters that are getting short shrifted. And it's not as though these kids are fascinating or anything, this story's all crap - but to keep it, or any storyline, going as though no time has passed and pick it up like it's nothing, it's ridiculous.

Why not just fire some people if they're in a financial crunch? Frankie always had the reputation of running on almost nothing in the pocketbook.
