Oh, geez.... I just looked in here and found you posted something by my favorite girls! The 70's Supremes were one of the most underrated groups, Jean Terrell, and later, Mary's lead vocals are so amazing. "Up The Ladder To The Roof" actually sold twice as many copies as Diana's first single "Reach Out And Touch Somebody's Hand". Their second album 'New Ways But Love Stays" is just best in every way... really the only concept album the Supremes ever did. That album had some amazing tracks.

I've been really obsessing over the supremely underrated Betty Wright lately, and this obsession always comes in waves. Truly one of the greatest female voices of all time, IMO, from her beginnings 45 years ago to her most recent album with The Roots. I grew up hearing Clean Up Woman, Tonight is the Night and After the Pain at family parties and just around the neighborhood, but discovering some of her other songs has really made me a huge fan. I'm just upset that her 70s albums outside of Live! and I Love the Way You Love (one of the best soul albums ever) aren't on iTunes and are so hard to find in vinyl shops. I really really really want the original studio version of Tonight is the Night.
