Yay, more men turned into rapists once the show wants people to hate them/can't come up with another plot.

Patsy looks nice. I'm glad she grew her hair out.

The Rafe/Jordan/Kate story seems so disconnected from everything else.

I hope they kill Nick off. I've never understood his appeal. He's a young Matt Ashford, I just don't get it.

The Jordan/Rafe/Kate storyline, at the moment, is totally disconnected, I think today's scenes with Abby show that Jordan's going to gain some integration, which is what that storyline needs.

I just hope Kristen gets a great exit and not just presumed dead.

Can't wait to see that Eric/Nicole confrontation and Maggie leaving Victor (hopefully for good, I liked them originally but its turned into a mess).

What have they done to Nick though? My goodness. I guess they got bored with him after the reveal that he was raped. I feel like they basically dropped him to the backburner until making him a psycho.

Nick and Kristen both being killed off and the show castes look a likes for both months ago.... Interesting.

Looks good. Still doesn't touch the best nov promo, when Sami confronted Nicole, but it is solid.

Days has sucked for months but the past few months it has become great again and it looks like it keeps it up at least for awhile.

Someone on this writing staff has a screw loose. How many more rape stories?

Eh, three in a year is a lot sure but it really doesn't feel like it has taken over the show or anything. Nicks past rape played out early in the year, Eric's rape while shockingly being called rape - as it should be - wasnt done in a gratuitous way that I've become used to on soaps. And it looks like this rape never happens. I'll take three rape stories in a year if they are well done stories, like these, overt he one a year graphic rape that ends up with the woman weaker than ever and taking the blame (hi, GH).

I do think it's interesting days took on two males rapes this year though, and did them both right and justice.

Generally I try to stay spoiler free, but Days gives away so little and I'm very interested/concerned in where the show goes after Kristen, so I checked this out.

I'm dissapointed with the direction they are going with Nick - for him to attempt raping Gabi after what happened in jail to him is to trivialise everything and destroy the character. I like Beris a lot, but now is the time to write him out I'm afraid.

The reason I loved JJ and Theresa was that they were so edgy compared to traditional soap fare with their strident rebellion and give-no-shits attitude. In a really short period of time, they have now both been defanged and their stories and characters seem to have regressed back to soap average.

Jordan is a slow burn intro character and that's fine, but can't be relied on to drive an A storyline.

My hope is that the show is still being cagey but where it is going and excluded a lot from the promo.

IS Nick being killed off? Did I miss Blake Berris leaving the show? He's still on, right? And still filming? I don't think they'd show his death like that in the promo anyway.

We don't know if he's dead

He would neither confirm nor deny at Days of Days, leading me to believe he is off the show.

So what exactly was the point of bringing the character back, ruining him, developing some labored prison rape backstory to try and soften him up, and then killing him as a would-be rapist? I'll wait.

I think it was obvious that Nick was brought in to bring dimensions into the Arianna custody story. After the drive by with Melanie that was pretty much the characters sole focus. Without Nick, Gabi was basically irrelevant and there was nothing to push her behavior. To another extent Will had no adversary to play villain to his hero. Nick basically extended the story potential for Will and Gabi by about a year. Without him there would have been no tension or conflict in Wabi story.

I don't particularly feel bad for the Nick character. Nor do I feel that he has been misused or horribly treated. I just think the character suffered because he no longer has anyone to play against, and the writers decided to wash their hands of him rather than have him drift in and out of stories for a few months before slowly releasing him from his contract. His scene partners have dried up with all the consecutive exits. The only thing worthwhile to do with the character would be to create a long standing feud with Will Horton. But that character already has enough on his plate because they don't know if the recast will take. I also don't believe Nick has ever been a character to have that much effort or loyalty put into him to really stick him into the canvas. He has potential, but not necessarily that much more than the teen set we already have or the ones that were previously established before him.

As to the rape stories this year, I don't like the way any of them have been portrayed at Days. The Eric rape feels hollow and more about Kristen's demise than about the assault Eric went threw. I also dislike how he compares the event to pornography rather than a personal attack, and this current rape story with Gabi feels like it's just a catapult to write the actress off rather than a true character moment.

I honestly think Nick returned for a story with Melanie, but Molly quit and as opposed to recasting the role the character was written out. They then transitioned him into the gabi/will/sonny story as gabi was lingering with nothing and there was a void to fill there. The family conflict was solid and his addition to the baby story and his prison rape were great however it was obvious they didn't know what to so from there.

I won't miss him if he is gone but at the same time I'd like him to stick around. We will see if he is really killed off, I doubt it though.

As for the rape stories, I think his was handled well. I think that the Eric one is very interesting, because he didn't know new as raped and we have seen him slowly come to figure it out and put the pieces together. From his accusing Nicole to the tape being played and lashing out at Brady who denied what he went through and blamed him for it, to hopefully more play on it I think it was very well done and added a lot to the story's and character. I'm surprised they have not tried to avoid calling it rape. It was rape. People call it rape. Eric said she raped him. The promogrphy comment was about the tape being played in church, and I think it was valid. I am curious as to where this will go for Eric next.

I can't comment on nicks attack of gabi. We haven't seen it. But I don't find it out of character at all that he would snap and attack her.
