The show probably knew. The guy usually had a lot of work outside of DAYS - why would he want a low-paying job in a supporting role?

I doubt they're kicking themselves over something both sides knew would never happen.

yes, because as we all know, SUPER SAUGHT AFTER actors do day-player gigs on soaps all the time to help give back to the acting community... not. The guy needed a job, and would have probably taken a contract role if DAYS had offered him one.

It wasn't a day-player role - it was a flashy role he could pop in and out of when his schedule suited. He got a ton of attention from DAYS fans for it, yet he could still do primetime and whatever else he wanted.

Who IS Brant Daugherty that he's going to be on Dancing With the Dayplayers?

I really don't think it's a big "loss" for DAYS. DWTS isn't pulling the numbers it used to, and unless you're a war vet with noticeable scars and a fantastic real-life backstory, nobody is going to care about a soap star. Did anyone care about Ingo Rademacher this past Spring? Aiden Turner...?

that ship has sailed, imo. He will not be coming back to daytime, unless he hits a brick wall w/ cable/primetime/movies.

Ingo + Aiden are both old (w/ pretty blah personalities, too), and likely weren't 'heartthroby' enough to really set hearts aflutter. This Brant guy is young and a teenage dream hearthrob... this show will be a great stepping stone for his career if he makes a big enough splash... if he has a great personality and takes his shirt off a lot he's pretty much set. Casting directors for CW shows and Teen Wolf are probably watching him w/ interest.
