THAT DAMN GUITAR RIFF! I admit, I'm at the point where it just makes me laugh hysterically. Whose idea was it??

And the weirdest thing is that, in many episodes, it's not even done at the beginning of the first scene... just randomly halfway through  WTF???!!!

It sounds like little Ethan 2.0 to me.

And of course Dixie in true blame-David fashion responds with "you were shot" when JR asks what happened at the party. That has got to be the worls most daring over simplification.

AJ tried to put his mac down and got shut down, poor guy.

Little Ethan?

I dunno, I suspect the advice they give you is not to lay such huge material on someone who just woke up from a five year coma--but I could be wrong? :P

This is the first episode I FF-ed. I'm just wasn't interested in the boy band.

I usually skip stuff like that--but in this case it wasn't even the full song--so I could deal.

I'm just really starting to notice a glaring age difference between Pete and Celia so the whole relationship is just off for me now. I'm fine with age. It's a number. I don't care, but it's kinda ridiculous that she's 'trapped in a boarding school' and this nearly 30 something tech wiz/giant/company owner is all head over heels and pretty much stalking her. I really get WHAT they're trying to do and I want to love it because it's such, to me, reminds me so clearly of Agnes and AMC in the past, but it's just kinda not working. I'm sorry but they should not have gone for two clearly green actors (though neither are bad, and probably will end up being very good, but they're just not quite there yet) if Pete and Celia were going to get THIS much focus.

I like them both, honestly, and I want what they're trying to do with them to work, but man, RIGHT NOW (yes, it's only been 8 episodes but they've been in all of them) it's just not. They need to ease up on them. What happened to letting us care over time? But then we have all of these other great character driven reactions and motivations and budding storylines and they're just ...

Anyway ... my point is in there somewhere LOL

Brilliantly stated. I think I would be more invested with a few more Opal/Pete scenes and especially more of the gothic Celia stuff--scary mirror man, Evelyn, etc.

I agree one problem is both actors seem to be the greenest in the cast--and both work better when working opposite more established actors.

AMC is actually quite boring to me. With all the new people and younger storyline, I think I'm way too old to enjoy it any longer.

Too bad :P

Has it only been for AJ/Miranda scenes, or Celia Petey ones too? It's not like all the characters have some sort of theme cue music.

ANyway, I thought it was a great episode overall. The pacing and mix of stories (I agree we could take a Celia/Petey break but they were better this time) was just right, I felt.

Only AJ/Miranda.

I agree. I love how it comes up unexpectedly and every time I hear it I laugh to myself. It's almost intentional, as if they hold it back and then spring it on you!

Exactly! Just as I've forgotten about it... than BAM.

BIZARRE! Who came up with this idea, and was everyone else in production just like "that's a GREAT idea mr music guy!"

Absolutely no idea. And the music is otherwise quite good. It just makes no sense. Very Disneyish.

LOL. But did it really have to play at the beginning of that Miranda scene today  Did they want us to laugh at her dress? :P It was especially out of place there.

I keep expecting to see AJ strumming that guitar in the nude as we first saw him. I'm always startled to see him fully clothed with no guitar in sight. Today, when I heard the guitar riff and he wasn't even there, it was Miranda. laugh.png

Yeahs from now when they get married, it will accompany the ceremony.

I'm gonna miss the guitar riff when it's gone. It's really getting to me. In a good way that once was horrible.
