I don't think Bittle sounds like JY at all. I like how they used an older actor. Hopefully that will mean JR will be more mature at some point. Also, his not remembering what happened-hopefully that will mean there is more to the story.

I like the pacing of the stories now. Celia/Pete break next episode, please? But I am looking forward to The Delicate Deflowering of Celia that is on the horizon!

I'm definitely looking forward to Debbi putting in work next week.

 I'll never forget when the Hubbards learned Frankie was injured in Iraq. Denise Vasi was all  and then Debbi was basically like, "move aside, bitch" and proceeded to show her how it's really done!

That would've been another fake out for sure.

DEAD. Don't forget that Angie is God-fearing. And the focus groups who clamored for the core Hubbards back.

I find that if you go into the show assuming you will see Pete/Celia, it annoys you less when they do appear. And really all the major stories seem to be getting a lot of play. I did like them angry at each other and was sad it didn't last longer. Him calling her princess reminded me of early Ryan/Gillian, probably because of the extreme resemblance

Loved Miranda/AJ and even that little boy band today. AJ could not be any cuter. Glad they didn't kiss. Agnes needs to employ her make em wait philosophy to this. Funny how these two seem set to extreme slow burn while the writers seem to want Pete/Celia on the super couple fastrack.

I like Zach as second banana crime fighter far more than I every liked him as romantic leading man.

Figured they would go with JR not remembering. They need to address next week if JR is in legal trouble. Cady is looking the best she has since I started watching in 1993/1994 (the scary short hair time).

Very dark scene when the girl was found in the dumpster, I was not expecting anything like that.

I think JR remembers what happened, it just seemed like he was not letting on that he did.

David really needs to stop lurking around the hospital, he's there way too much.

When my Air Force son got injured in Turkey, we got a call from his Commander and I don't remember going crazy, throwing things, and shouting loudly, "I want answers" like Angie did when they got the call about Frankie. I think that soap opera's like to add a little dramatics to their scenes. But, I was crying and simply used my resiliency and strength to wait for continued calls, medavac to Landstuhl, etc. Being military, we tend to act with resiliency and strength and wait for answers. We know the drill, so to speak. BTW I was alone at the time, nobody in the house, my husband out of state with business. Now talk about really being alone getting the call. At least the Hubbards were their on the spot ASAP.

Because of the 18-49 age demographics that shows focus attention on today, the teen storylines have to be very much an integral part to the success of the reboot. Social media is where the new generation of viewership is. The Over 40 group is lesser attention, it seems.

Getting ready for Dr. Evil to come out, I guess.

Hulu not working for me today. Had to watch on Itunes.

Can Pete/Celia be the ones that leave for an 'extended' period?

I like AJ/Miranda and think they are cute. But I can use a break from them as well.

Love Cass's story. Jessie/Zach team work like watching a film instead of a soap. Look forward to Angie finding out - Debbi's going to kill it.

JR waking up and seems to finally be moving that story forward so that was good.

Now I need for the 3 second scenes for Brooke and Adam and 3 minute scenes for the teens/newbies to rotate. I need to see B&A planning their wedding and then actually getting married. I need to see a B&A scene that lasts longer then 10 seconds and is about them and not exposition about what's happening with the teens.

They've given 'older' couples like Jessie/Angie and David/Cara (both couples I like) longer scenes that are about them and just them and move them forward. Dixie's call with Tad (a couple I could care less about) and her chat with Joe about Tad were longer and of more substance about them. If they can write that for them they can do it for Brooke and Adam.

Whether DC is 'recurring' or not they've had him on 4 times now and his only longer scenes have been with Dixie and Bianca. WTF?

    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
    • Lucy Coe wasn't even this big of a whore.
    • Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.  All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come. How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?
    • Oddly.. Chase and Steve seem to have both vanished from the canvas in December so the Estelle return loses impact when two of her kids stop appearing shortly after her return (and I assume TR leaves in early 1986 as well). The Steve recast doesn't work... but it's odd that he has a long scene with Teri with Cagney looking jealous.. when the majority of his time on the show previously was a relationship and engagement to Stephanie (who he barely has a scene with in the episodes I see). Your idea for Wendy/Bela/Stephanie sounds just like what Ryan's Hope did with Michael/Kim/Rae... and considering Louise Shaffer was playing Rae and Stephanie.. it would have been a lousy redux of a superior story on another soap (that had months of build-up) I think Quinn becoming assistant to Stephanie was Mayer/Braxton... but not 100 % sure. I don't know if Mayer/Braxton was setting up Sarah as a bad girl disguised as a good girl.. but the actress (Joyner) was playing the scenes in that manner.. and Tomlin wisely tapped into that when he took over.
    • She’s such a caricature - which is a shame because I think the actress is capable of so much more.   I don’t know why Cady often feels like she has overcompensated in her performances. She already proved she can play much more than just Dixie Cooley during her first stint at ATWT (her best acting era). Her performances in various roles since then have been quite strange at times.
    • It feels like the show suddenly woke up today and remembered it was Sweeps month. Lots of action and forward momentum, including a delicious Nina/Carly fight.
