Preach! Far be it for me to defend that 2 headed hack, but LL were over a long long long time ago! LL are done! Stick a fork, a knife, a hatchet and a stake right thru that putrid chit. FRon gave you vets, and now they have to stay together too? !@#$%^&*] it!

People should not be upset because of pairings. They should be tossing hissies because of the overall wreck the show is. Not being able to separate pairings played a large part in the downfall of Daytime! The writers let the fanbases in, and there was no getting rid of them. It's like a damn social worker!

I'm just falling in love with you more each day wub.pngwub.pngwub.png

We've been over this before, but don't presume to speak for anyone but yourself. I watch a show for the whole show, and I don't make it about couples - I never have. I critique or criticize the show based on things throughout the whole show; I like what I like, I dislike what I dislike. That said, Luke and Laura are never done. Ron's far too in love with the supercouple era and this is something he always does going back to OLTL. It's a feint on his part. I'd bet money they'll at least be on a reunion track within a year.

Not sure why you feel the need to raise your hand when I say something, which is basically an admission of guilt. I said "People", and obviously I can't be speaking on everyone's behalf as I was agreeing with Cheap when she said they were over long ago. She doesn't seem to be all broken up about it either. When I say EVERYONE, then you can raise your hand. Until then, you don't need to be so combative with me.

What kind of 'guilt' are we talking about? What exactly am I guilty of, Officer? Please, tell me. Keep digging.

Oh, honey, you do this with everybody. I'm just reminding you that a blanket statement can't and shouldn't be applied to anyone in the thread just because they differ from you. You have no inkling what motivates any of us, just by virtue of our occasionally disagreeing with your bolded and oversized words and sentences. Emphasis is no substitute for equilibrium.

There's no reason to yell at Vee by using all caps with a huge font, if you have to do that to try to make a point then clearly you never had much of a point to begin with, just saying.........

I doubt L&L are over unfortunately. I bet TG is none too happy given he basically said no too long ago he didn't want L&L and wanted Luke and Tracy

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
