Y&R: April 2013 Discussion Thread

Especially given that the character of Lily has never had a non-white love interest until now.

But this is how Y&R has tried to train their audience to think for years, so the show has no one to blame for this absurdity but itself.

I am not putting this craziness on Y&R. Their whole thought process is illogical and based on slavish devotion to this crappy couple.

If they really want to break up Lame, they going to have to do another interracial couple that

doesn't involve CKLily. Just to shut the crazy people up. That mean Mason or bring back Devon put one of

them white chick. Or put Leslie with somebody white.

I agree. This is all of those inane shippers who can't separate fiction from reality. Those Lane fans are coming off very delusional, bitter, and bats**t crazy with their threats, bullying tactics, etc. all in the name of a terribly bland fictional couple. Lily and Cane are a horrendously mismatched couple. And have been from the start. They are dull as dirt and should have been blown apart years ago. TPTB should not tolerate bullying. Good or bad TPTB need to tell the stories they want to tell without trying to please delusional fans of any couple. Lily and Cane are not special in any way, shape, or form.

Lily and Cane are just like any other fictional couple in that they can be broken up at any time. No couple survives on a soap for long without numerous obstacles and no couple is ever left unscathed. TPTB can break up any couple that they want to for story purposes without having to kow-tow or having to create any other couple to make up for it. If TPTB want Lily and Cane to end for good then so be it because it should have happened eons ago. IMO It is what it is. Those out of touch fans that don't like it can go kick rocks. But they will deal just like other fans have dealt with reality since the beginning of soaps.

Casting Notice:

Y&R is seeking to cast a 30-something female. Business savvy. Troubled personal life.

Recast?

Recast for who though? Sounds like a possible new character.

The only one that might fit that description is Victoria, but they haven't cared to recast that wimp Heinle for years, so it won't be her.

Breaking up Cane/Lily is not the reason for Y&R to do an interracial couple. It should be done because not doing it has gotten them stuck with too many couples that do not work. Tyler's only option should not be CKLily. Same with Leslie, Tyler should be tested with multiple potential love interests. Leslie is wasted with Neil. They have no chemistry and he is too old for her. She should be with a younger man. She should actually be tested with Cane since Chelsea is stuck in Dylan hell.

More on the casting:

JENNIFER. Attractive, vibrant Caucasian in her early to mid 30s. Sharp professional with a big heart. Dedicated and focused in work. Vulnerable and emotional in her personal life.

"Vibrate" as in "vibrator" or "vibrant?" Because "vibrator" would actually be interesting. LOL!

Victoria aint 30!

Haha. Vibrant. It does kind of sound like Heather. I can see them bringing her back.

Victoria aint 30!

The original description said 30-something, Victoria would be late 30's.

But it wouldn't her with the updated description of "early to mid 30s."

How is Victoria late 30s when Nick is early 40s? Isn't Victoria mid 40s? They still have her established as the older sister.

Victoria should be 45-50 thanks to the new timelines. They screwed those up so much in the last decade.

As for Lane, if JFP is anything like her old self, if people send her this type of crap, she will break them up just to make sure people remember who's boss.

I wish she would just recast Lily already
