March 13, 201312 yr Member I don't see how or why Good Times should be adapted into a movie. I pray this doesn't stink as bad as I think it will.
March 13, 201312 yr Member I may be one of the few people out there who likes The Beverly Hillbillies movie. Me and you both. Saw it in the theatre, love that movie. A very well-cast, faithful tribute to the original. I appreciated the attention to detail, like the perfect castings of Mrs. Drysdale (complete with poodle) and Cousin Pearl.
March 13, 201312 yr Member Can we not ever mention Keith again, please? Who the hell was writing that corny crap in the final season like his little calypso ditty? Painful to watch. Someone on that staff loved writing that [!@#$%^&*] because you had stuff like the singing telegram girls for cousin Raymond too. I loved their variety show episodes, but worked into an otherwise normal episode, I cringe at that stuff. For the record, Carl was last mentioned when Florida comes back for Thelma's wedding. She gives Michael a book from Carl.
March 13, 201312 yr Member It was discussed on Michael and Kelly. Michael said he would be great as James Evans...although he loved to play Jj. They kept playing the theme music through out the show.
March 13, 201312 yr Member One of my favorites is Willona vs Penny's mother episode.....You come set me up like Im so kind of gangster...you better believe it I am going to take this to court...and Penny's abuse was another chilling episode at the time. I caught that eppy a few weeks ago and DVRd it! JaNet (Dubois and certainly NOT Jackson) and Chip were on fire! What a great eppy!
March 13, 201312 yr Member It should be more focused as a drama with a little comedy. Stay within the storylines of all 6 seasons from James dying, Penny's abuse and when Thelma got married and was almost abused by her new husband
March 13, 201312 yr Member I'm reserving judgment, the film was just announced, I'd rather form an opinion when it actually comes out. It might turn out terrible, but it could be good. No, it can't. The Honeymooners was a classic sitcom on just about every TV critic's top 10 list. The movie was announced and you knew even before it was shot that it was going to be pathetically bad. I never saw it, still haven't, and yet I know it was bad. That it opened up to terrible reviews and came and went in two weeks was not something I needed for confirmation but I thank the critics for proving that sometimes common sense is all you need.

I'm just remaining objective until the movie actually comes out. It's hard to call a movie terrible that hasn't even been made yet. We don't know if it will even actually be made, some films get announced, yet never get made.
