If they were smart, they'd know Madonna was actually one of the very first celebrities to promote safe sex and openly lent her support to gay rights a long time before it became fashionable for celebrities to do so.

The sad thing is, Lady Gaga feeds into her psychotic fans and encourages these people. I bet she won't even open her mouth about this mockery to let her fans know the actual facts.

Exactly right! Madonna always promoted safe sex.

Flopga's fans are a bunch of psychotic nitwits. I was a big fan when she was new to the scene, but she totally 'jumped the shark' after Born This Way (album) was released; she's also very hypocritical.

That makes my skin crawl. Many of Madonna's friends likely died of AIDS - is she being blamed for their deaths?

She encouraged fun and at times sexuality, not promiscuity - I wouldn't even say any of her music at the height of the AIDS crisis went anywhere near that direction. By the time of the Sex album and book, anyone with a brain should have known about condom use, and even if they didn't, that's not Madonna's fault.

How disgusting to exploit AIDS this way, especially that era, which decimated so many people. It's reprehensible.

I remember an SNL episode Madonna hosted, this must have been in a 1985 episode, she appeared in a sketch written by Terry Sweeney (I think), who was the only openly gay writer/cast member SNL had for a long long time, and the sketch was basically about gay men with AIDS being shunned. And that was much of America in 1985. Do these people realize that some powerful members of Congress were trying to have gay men put into camps? Do they know anything about that world or what Madonna was doing and the difference she probably made to a lot of people who felt like they were lepers, even though she probably had management and record executives telling her not to make a peep?

I just wish people would shut the !@#$%^&*] up.

Madonna has tried to make amends with Gaga over Gaga plagiarizing Madonna and Gaga insists she's creative because she is the first one since Madonna to do that type of music. So whatever. The Gaga fans are pretty much like the white girls in Bring It On who were stealing cheers from the black girls if those white girls then went on to complain about how offensive the cheers were.

What's interesting is that the generation that are Gaga fans were certainly instructed in school that AIDS was the scariest and worst thing ever, because they would've been entering school in the early 90s when AIDS was still an epidemic but no longer forbidden to talk about. So there's something about AIDS embedded in their earliest memories, but I wonder if even then it was so remote to the affluent type that would like Gaga that it was never truly real to them.

    • I haven't watched yet, but did they explain the current ownership of The Bistro?  Because when RonC was writing, wasn't he applying for work with Sophia?
    • I think Brandon has gotten better in normal day to day scenes, but he’s very over the top when the character is meant to be angry or agitated. I did laugh when she started yelling at Leslie and then when he started to throw all those damn books, lol. He needs an acting coach to work out some of these kinks.
    • I've never found him as bad as some. I think he's always shined in scenes with Vernon, who should be his father. I also think he has great chemistry with Kat and Dani which I hope they tap into more over time. Dani/Martin feel like such a fun and believable Auntie/Nephew relationship.
    • I'm fighting for my life on another board for my husband Brandon and I'll do it here too lmao
    • I don't expect Lois to be the same person she was 25 years ago, but she's definitely lost a lot of what made Lois unique.  It's clear the show doesn't know how to write for her, and the sole purpose of Lois is to hide this Gio secret.  It's a shame she doesn't interact with more of the canvas.  It's a waste of Rena's talents. I like Brook Kerr most of the time.  She can be hit or miss.  I totally get what you are saying about her line readings too.  I honestly think the character really suffers being stuck in the Curtis pairing.  She's much better than Tanisha Harper's Jordan lol.
    • Friday and yesterday's episode is what daytime television should be. The other shows airing could take a page from yesterday's show.  I loved the rage, hurt and anger Nicole unleashed on Ted.  Daphnee should be up for an Emmy nom for these scenes.  It broke my heart to see how Dana had locked Eva out.  I do feel sorry for Eva.    I am still bumfuzzled as to why Leslie/Dana went to the DuPree's and asked them to accept Kat UNLESS Eva is really Kat's twin (and really Nicole and Ted's daughter that maybe they though they lost or an embryo Dana/Leslie stole??) I loved how Anita and Vernon both shot her down.    Ohhh and let me just say Friday and yesterday was the MOST fire I have seen Martin have since the show started.  Maybe Brandon Clayborn is coming into his own with the role finally.
    • You've been seeing him all along. You just didn't know it was him, I guess.

    • Where to for Dana? She's pissed off the Duprees (most of the cast), alienated her daughter and will she be welcomed by the Have Nots at the diner? Maybe she can befriend Ashley and Derek and liven up their story.
