I'm not saying they're for sure indicators but seriously, it's also ridiculous to assume the cast placements mean 100% nothing. Matthew and Dani used to date and she's touching his leg in the photo. Are we really going to count that out? Like others said, Tea and Cutter don't really have many people to interact with and neither do Jack and Destiny and they're also near each other. Some of it is aesthetic I'm sure but honestly.

I'm not saying all of the placements mean something. But Clint is close to Natalie, his daughter. Blair is close to Jack, her son. Blair and Matthew are both second from the end because they have red articles of clothing. I mean, I'm not totally retarded lol.

I think it's a little from column a., a little from column b. Of course production was there so I'm sure they gave little notes to the photog about certain things (a person unfamiliar with the show wouldn't know to put Slezak, Canary, Barr in prominent positions, for example). I think we can have our fun speculating, but there's no science here.

Sure--sorry I didn't mean to spoil your fun, and I don't mean to make this remotely personal. I just don't get it at all--I guess that's not how my soap fandom works for me (I also never seem to come up with plot ideas and don't understand fan fiction, so.)
