Eric, I do recall hearing FX Canada promoted the show a lot. They seemed to want it to work, which makes the failure even more sad. OWN just dropped the shows out there and put absolutely no effort into promoting them, which was stupid considering their biggest hit was a soap.

OWN only.did ONE commercial. FX Canada's.commercials weren't.that good, to be honest

I have to laugh that DC, which loves to bitch about "hair models" who "don't know that they're born" is hungry for any job for Robert Scott Wilson, who would be better off turning letters.

I think he mostly grew into the part. To be fair he was stuck with the instant meet/cute/true/love story which woul dbe hard for experienced actors to pull off, let alone two newbies, but he always had a nice raport with Jill Larson. For the first while he tended to always say everything similarly and with big hand gestures (maybe due to his PIR days ) but that lessened.

I thought he had a lot of charm and charisma, and that went a long way. He was not a master thespian, but for a total amateur I thought he was surprisingly quite solid as an actor. He's one of several new stars I'll really miss if the shows don't come back.

I think it was Pauline Kael, or someone, who called an actress a "toothpaste goddess." That's what I thought of with him (god, not goddess). He was OK, but the idea of Y&R and B&B, which have a lot of casting problems as it is, fighting over him is a joke.

At first I was afraid that he would be a terrible actor but it really fit the character. I hope that they will bring in some of the nerdiness. Maybe Opal can look under his mattress and discover rare comics or something?? I found it hard to believe at first that he made a complete turn around in his persona. Pete could be molded in every type of character. Palmer was a schemer and so was Opal but Palmer was evil/devious at first and Opal was Trashy and bigoted at first. They need to explore his personality more and bring out some of the more scheming side of Pete.

It is funny how Opal tries to always break up her kids love lives....

If I were PP I would work on the production model for AMC & OLTL such as how many episodes to film this season & how many weeks each soap will film their episodes.

Then I would renew the lease with Conecuit Film Center & then go to actors and sign them to new contracts

Given that both soaps already have scripts ready, then I would set production start dates and finally premiere dates.

Yes by my timeline, both soaps would not begin production on season 2 til early 2014. However, I strongly believe that PP can't rush this and needs to take its time.

As fans, even though we may have wait months,I would assume we want quality over quantity and if taking this time will result in that, I am all for it.

And although he was green going in, having watch soaps since I was a little girl, I can honestly say I've seen other actors who were just as green or even moreso in their daytime debuts.

Somewhat-related... in between Devious Maids and Deadly Affairs, it's been announced that Susan Lucci is going to make another appearance on Season 5 of "Hot in Cleveland."

Via Daytime Confidential: La Lucci will return to play herself and speak at her nemesis Victoria’s (Wendie Malick) fake funeral.
