I don't have the PEOPLE issue, but I'm  & SMDH @ the fool that took off from her job to mourn that thirsty heifer of a character @

Do you have the People 50th Anniversary issue? Lilly Melgar was quoted as saying that a flight attendant came up to her once and said she took off work for a week after Lily's death, she was so sad about it.

She also predicted that she would be on GH when she was younger, having been a fan growing up, and predicted she would work with MB after watching him as Desi Arnaz. And then when Sonny and Lily got married, she said she exhaled on set and was just like, "Yep, I'm here!"

Naturally, this totally made me think of you wink.pnglaugh.png .

The original Frank Smith is the pervy soap thespian from Tootsie. I can't.

To me, George Gaynes is Commandant Lassard in all seven Police Academy films.

Frank sounds like Sam the Eagle or Fozzie from the Muppets.

Yep, that Laura sure was afraid of her own shadow - what with her toting a shotgun around her home to protect herself and baby Lulu...

Ah, it's all coming back to me now. Brenda getting shot in the shower (and Sonny still refusing to tell her what was up afterwards angry.png) and Stone finally revealing the awful truth to Robin. sad.pngsad.pngsad.png

Oh God, to me he's Henry Warnimont from Punky Brewster! Childhood ruined. wacko.png

That said, he was GREAT in Tootsie. The scene where he sings to Dorothy through the window gets me every time.

I'm out to dinner, what episode are they up to?

The episode that Stone reveals to Robin that he has AIDS. If I'm not mistaken, this is also when Luke & Sonny finally take down Frank Smith.

Left in 1991, came back when Maxie got sick in 1994 and then later in 1994 when Felicia and Tony tracked him down to tell him about Felicia being pregnant. He then came back for a visit in 1995 to see Georgie, left again, and didn't come back till this year

Thanks, Addie! No wonder it all seemed to blend in together - he dipped in and out of town during that time.

Why'd he leave in '91?

I think they both left in 91 with Maxie for Texas, where Felicia's from. But KW came back a year later, so they said F&F had divorced before then.

Sadly, I too believe that would have been the case. Also with Emily McLaughlin if she hadn't died at such a young age in 1991. In a way, I'm almost glad that they went when they did, because like Anna Lee, it would have broken their hearts to be fired.

As evidenced in this marathon, the veterans were all an active part of the show until the Guza days. No matter what Frank & Ron do and how many veterans they bring back, the time lost during the Guza reign can never be made up.

Precisely, though I do applaud Cartini for caring enough to try. That alone ranks them above showkiller Guza, bootleg Janet Wood, and cryptkeeper Frons.

Was EMcL young when she died? I assumed that she was in the twilight of her life when she was stricken with cancer.

I'm of the opinion that it is a good thing that JB, EMcL, and the other vets that died by then hadn't lived long enough to see the true destruction of the soap that he'd helped to build. I'd imagine that seeing the wreckage would be enough to send them into a tailspin.
