I was actually referring to the character, no matter who played her.

When they turned Phil into a bad guy, did they do it in a way that threw him under the bus or was it a natural progression? How did he die, anyway?

It was gradual because it had to be believable that a good woman like Jessie would keep taking him back. Phil was murdered. Jessie was arrested because she was found with his body. Then, Diana confessed (I think because she thought Peter had done it). The murderer turned out to be Augusta (Judith McConnell) who was pregnant with Peter's baby (and I think Phil was threatening to tell Diana who was married to Peter at that time).

I'd ask how come they never developed Brian and Claudia in the same way that AMC developed Angie and Jesse (especially the former couple is just as good-looking and seems just as charismatic as the latter couple), but I'd just be pointing out the obvious difference between the way each soap treated their Black characters (the first 2-3 years of the Ward family aside).

And yeah, the last 13 years decimated GH. We have so many familiar faces but the overall feel is just kind of lost. I won't say gone.
