Overall pretty boring episode but I always think it starts off slow until I get to know the people and that usually happens by like week 2 or 3.

I love that they have a black host

Topaz is cute. I think I could like her as she seems like a nice person

Alec is hot

Gary is annoying and I cant stand him

The host told Suzette to nominate and give her reasons why. She looked at the two men and said you guys and never gave her reason why! I wish she was pressed about it

I hate that they are calling this Big Brother Canada. Its annoying me more than I thought it would

I really enjoyed the first episode and I am obsessed with that d*mn house. We need the production team for their house to come do ours and produce the show. Groadbeast needs to go, and I'm already impressed with the team on BB:CA.

I can already tell who I am rooting for. I want Topaz, Alec, Aneal, Suzette, or Gary to win.

The rest of them, not so much.

And I want Tom to go "bye-bye" after that comment he made about gays. I like the twists and I like (so far) that the edit does not try and put a certain HG over the other.

First person has already been evicted:

I do too. You don't get the room. No basket from home. None of that. And being the 1st HOH is the worst b/c you're automatically made a target. I just hope that Suzette bounces back. I think she will thought b/c I see whomever becomes the next HOH going for big personalities as there are too many of them in that house.

Exactly granted I think it should be mandatory that they at LEAST get a basket from home. I can kinda understand no HOH room but they should get something from home. Agreed that there is a MAJOR target on your back if you're the first HOH. I also end up hating that sometimes it comes down to just the last man because many end up throwing the first HOH comp. just so they don't have that target.

I thought Kat was coming at Suzette too strong and I liked that Suzette told her to back off and at least let her enjoy the HoH room.

Gary Glitter is annoying and i love how Aneal set him up. That was genius! Too bad it didnt work...for now

Kat and Emmett as nominees. I think Kat has more to offer the show so hope she stays. Emmet hasnt really shown much yet. He has a good body but not really that good looking.

AJ...wow, forgot he was even in the house

So sad to see Kat go. She had so much potential

Danielle looks like Kristen Bell

Peter...what a dork. When he said he's in a cuddlemance with himself, I dont think he realized the implications of that

Talla...she looks like she could be a Kardashian

Alec...he looks like this hot guy at my gym

I like how this show acknowledges the American version like its previous seasons to its own

I can't believe the first HOH comp was an endurance comp and how Suzette became HOH was so lame - she answered a phone call!? Really? LOL I also didn't like the background music, especially the upbeat one.

Don't really have any favourites so far and disappointed that there's no eye candy.

Ok, I agree with whoever said saying Big Brother Canada all the time is annoying. I don't even think the UK or AUS versions said it as much as they do -- they just call it Big Brother. Oy that will annoy the hell out of me.

Oooooooo so they only get 100,000 if they win?

    • Actually Kim Zimmer got six weeks off to test the waters for pilot season in L.A. - she said later she went on many auditions and got one offer for a sitcom, but she would one of many in an ensemble. She turned it down, because it wasn't worth leaving Guiding Light for a supporting role on a sitcom.
    • I'm not even sure why Zoe would care, even if they know each other offcamera.  I can't see Jean going, but if she is - good riddance at this point.
    • I just found the commercial on YouTube, with several other GL'ers doing the same commercial - how fun!

She did the same for me once Ghost Reva arrived (the anxiety and paranoia) - which is when the storyline for Rick/Annie started, with their Chicago past and her alcoholism. But before all that, when she was new and tending to Josh's broken leg, she was just normal, sweet and very cute/flirty.
    • I have to admit Annie exhausted me somewhat before she went nuts. So much anxiety. She and Robert were OK I guess. Didn't ever stick out much one way or the other.
    • I meant to ask in the May thread, but hey...it's not like it won't come up...   ...has our opinions of Jessica changed at this point? I know we debated at one point if she was sincere in her feelings for Ty or if she was in on his bullying. Now that a little more time has passed, what do we think?
    • Which is why I said...and continue to say mind you...that the designer is still trying to figure out what works for which character...highlight my points with particular characters. And as I also agree with you, too many misses. She has not found a clear, firm rhythm for me. Yet.   I also agree that BTG does a much better job. But I'll give credit where it's due.
    • I watch many episodes from the Vault, a secret source here on SON, because the quality is much better than YouTube. But, it has commercials that I have to skip through, although even these commercials give me serious nostalgia vibes. All that said, there is a consistent 1996 commercial for Excedrin with Frank Beatty!  He talks right into the camera about his feelings, and it's like Brent Lawrence never left. I wonder if GL fans back in the day ever saw this and had feelings about it.
    • Dukes of Hazzard had a good run when it moved to 8pm but even when that was failing ABC and NBC couldn't come up with a hit show to dominate  that timeslot. NBC sent The A Team, Knight Rider and Riptide there for their final seasons and CBS did the same with Scarecrow & Mrs King. Otherwise it was a barrage of new shows that never worked.
    • Agree. Much more miss than hit. Maybe I'm out of the loop, but I thought clothing was supposed to be flattering. A lot of the Y&R women are seen in the tight solid color dresses ,often with cutouts/one shoulder. Now that may be a fashion but to have all of them in interchangeable dresses... Do the characters have a particular color pallette/style that is unique to them? BTG does a better job in that department. Some recent Y&R looks. I actually like the dress but we see that style too often.   Nikki's new look is not to my liking.
    • The first show I found had Maeve dressed horribly, and I just shook my head and thought she must've been thrilled to be portraying someone much more sophisticated and rich. Vanessa's hats and gloves probably cost more than her AW character's entire wardrobe.
