Beyonce lip syched

  • Members

The height of lame. You are the biggest star on earth, it is your job to be able to sing the song live on the biggest stage possible under whatever the condition.

http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/01/22/marine-band-confirms-beyonce-inauguration-performance-was-pre-recorded/

Beyoncé’s performance of the national anthem at President Obama’s second inauguration on Monday was everything it should be: soaring, moving, symbolic and musically superlative. It also wasn’t live.

The R&B diva only pretended to sing, lip-syncing the words to a backing track. What the listeners heard was a version she had recorded at a Marine Corps studio in Washington on Sunday night, a spokeswoman for the Marine Band said.

How did she call her out? She basically agreed that the weather wasn't good for singing and even said that she'd probably do a pre-recording herself if she was asked to do another inauguration.

There was plenty of shade her response. In her timeless way, the Queen called her out on not being up to par.

Reading this makes me sad. The laziness and greed of today's entertainment industry has manipulated you, and conditioned you to accept LESS THAN. That's why many won't accept that. We accepted people lip synchin on American basdstand because it was a show created to promote RECORDS, but NEVER would we dream of accepting lip synching at a live concert or live event years ago. And the concept that you either dance or sing, and you can't do both proficiently is a bunch of hooey.

Manipiulated me? Oh please. I dont need you to be sad for me. You can take that way back there. I dont need you to post a bunch of video "evidence" of people singing and dancing. I never stated its impossible. Besides those dance moves are pretty basic. Have you seen a Beyonce or Britney Spears show? They dance with pyrotechnics, animals, in the air, ground elevating/moving around them, etc.... That doesnt compare to merely moving ones hips will being able to carry a tune. This aint the 70s. Technology has advanced to allow performances to get alot bigger in scale and many artists have had to adjust to accomodate. Some are better at it, but others arent but that doesnt take away from their vocal ability

There were no pyrotechnics or dancing monday. And while this may not be the 70s, at least in the 70s singers sang.

Anyway, it has made for at least one clever tabloid headline

I honestly don't care about lip syncing several great artists have done it from Micheal to Janet to Britney to Kylie to Madonna to country singers like Reba and Shania. I am glad that Beyonce's shadiness was unveiled though, it annoys me that Beyonce is seen to be untouchable when she isn't. She gets away with far too many things and it far over praised and over rewarded. Her endless grammy's, her stealing writing credits, production credits and denying things that actually happened happening that this little piece of information leaking out is a tiny piece of karma.

At the end of the day, it was her choice and it's not like the world is going to end because of it. Those other singers on the platform chose to sing in cold, which was their choice and they had a right to do it. You can sing in the cold, but it's not a great choice for vocal health at all.

When Stephen Colbert weighs in with his "outrage", you pretty much know you're dealing with a huge non-issue. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/tv/showtracker/la-et-st-beyonce-lip-synching-stephen-colbert-20130124,0,6907984.story

They sure do.... and they sing with computer assistance, in concert and on record, so that's why your'e being manipulated, the entertainment business today is using the shiny bling, the razzle dazzle of technology so you don't notice that your'e being sold style over substance. That's why when someone with real talent finally DOES come along (Adele) then people just cling to her like a life preserver. And the Ikettes were merely moving their hips..... wish I could shake em that fast!

no I'm not being manipulated. You act like this one lip synching controversy erases the HUNDREDS of songs she has sung live

I've always felt she's tried to exude this wholesome image, one of humility and just a raw talent. I don't think she's a great vocalist. I don't believe she's a genuine songwriter either, even some of her collaborators have said as much. She's worked hard, no doubt, but I've never been fond of her, her entire image seems fake, fake hair, fake song writing credits. To actually say that while dancing and she's a good dancer (for that kind of dancing) that she doesn't need backing vocals because she can sing and do cartwheels is just another thing that annoys me. Everyone knows that when a singer does even a moderate amount of dancing, they have heavy background vocals because otherwise they'd be out of breath. Why boast? Why the conceit?

I definitely believe that sometimes the cold warrants using a pre-recording. However, the lesson here is don't hire someone who isn't willing or is unable to rehearse in a way the performance requires. It's the national anthem, not singing Happy Birthday to a bunch of 2nd graders.

A little OT but I hate out people make the White House into the Playboy Mansion. What I mean is that the WH should not be the target for the Entertainment media. The Obama, Hilliary, and the rest our POLITICAL FIGURED NOT ENTERTAINERS. That said they can be entertaining but they are not super-stars.

Beyonce's choice is her choice. This was a SERIOUS national even not a football game or a concert. Sure, they get more ratings but they don't dictate the life of this nation so like they say "It is what it is".
