HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Exactly! We don't know what is going to happen yet. Everyone just needs to calm down and wait and see what happens before bitching about every little piece of news that they can scrounge up. We should be happy about this and support their efforts. When they actually do crap all over the legacies, then you can bitch.

+1.

When I see it on screen then it can be decided to support it or not, they don't get my automatic support just because they're resurrecting these shows. Show me they can do this and do it right, then they have my support.

SOme of us don't give them support "just because"....

Not trying to sound rude but You are deeming the shows awful and they haven't even shot a single scene yet. Nobody is asking you to blindly support them.

AMC hasn't done a good teen story since the 90's.

I won't argue with you on that (although I think that even with the awful rapid aging, AC Colby, Sean, and Sydney had good potential, as did JR and Jamie if they had had better recasts in 2002/2003). I'm just saying I don't think a teen focus is a desecration of AMC.

While I'm at it I don't think a show without Erica - the Erica of the last years of AMC anyway - is necessarily bad, although I hope Susan might be able to appear a little more often later on, if the show lasts. I do agree with those who think Bianca is important as a tentpole character.

So long as it keeps him out of the suicide ward.

Seriously, though, Tad and Dixie are an important tentpole couple. He seems to want to come back later. What could he possibly be doing?

So MEK just basically confirmed Ray MacDonnell will be part of the nuAMC

Yeah but at one point Debbi Morgan was pretty much confirming MEK was on board, so grain of salt.

Where does RM live?

It sounds like MEK might be having a personal issue, beyond wanting to join the show. I hope he is doing OK.

I'm very happy to hear about Ray McDonnell.
