I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

This is making me think of the dropped storyline where Adam had the half-Latino son out in California.

Miguel? I forgot how they dropped it. I know Tad went to CA to go find him to bring him to Pine Valley as a bone marrow match for JR.

If he doesn't have an agent, the best he can do is send his headshot/resume/cover letter to Alison Goodman. I don't have her address info. but maybe it'll turn up in a Google search.

I'm hazy too. Wasn't it kinda vague that Damon might be that character? Not that he's super latino or anything... Or Asher? I'm confused, but yeah it was dropped by the time Broderick left her interim HW job, if not before... (I guess she didn't like the story herself, or was ok with dropping it since she did stay on as a writer for S/K)

I think Miguel got dropped for/morphed into Asher. I remember some of us wondering if that's who Asher was going to be at first but he got attached to Caleb. The whole set up of the Caleb/Asher/Asher's mother relationship sounded like it could have been Adam/Miguel/Sonia (was that her name?).

Yeah, I think it definitely morphed. But it also felt like the continuity person wasn't reading all the scripts, because in one show, Adam made it very clear that he was single at the time Miguel was conceived, and then I believe the next episode, the writing hinted that he was either still married to Brooke, or still pursuing her after they were divorced when Miguel happened, which really made no sense given how Adam fought dirty to keep JR around the same time frame.

It was so OOC cause Adam would have NEVER let any child of his not be in his orbit, the only way that would happen is if he didn't know about the child.

Which could have played out if they hadn't made Damon Tad's child with Hilary, which I also felt didn't really work for their characters either. If they had played that Damon knew he might be Adam's kid, and had himself secretly tested as a possible donor - it would have been more interesting if Colby was taking an interest in Damon, and he was pushing her away, but she didn't know why, and then when he caused the accident with Brooke - Adam could have been all over his ass, not realizing that he was attacking his own son.

And Lorenzo, Hayley and Mateo's son, also morphed into Damon. I remember a scene where Damon claimed that a Hispanic kid stole something from the mansion. The show was messy at this point.
