WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Not that I'm agreeing with the debates or even disagreeing, but OLTL looked better production wise than GL in particular.

Production wise? Sure. I was talking about writing and acting. The latter in particular was often shockingly bad by OLTL's last few years. They were lucky to have some vets left, but not enough.

That's Jamey's gossip. I don't fully buy it--the first actors approached for both shows have been far from young--and, like her or not, Starr is umm young (unless they're going for a soap focused on under 15 year olds)

Well it's filmed near where he lives--maybe he can pop in every so often... I just see JB as more of a longterm option and I admit I'll take Brooke anyway I can...

I would love for Brooke/Adam to be on the new version of AMC, but still as a couple. If JB is willing (and or able) to appear more than DC, they can always treat them as Phoebe and Langley. Phoebe often appeared sans Langley, but the character was still supposed to reside in PV, the writers were just creative (go figure) with the reason Langley wasn't present at this or that event. However, IMO, I think if the characters aren't on screen, couples should keep their happy endings. Brooke/Adam and Stuart/Marion are off in Paris celebrating Stuart's art opening. There is no reason to break up Adam/Brooke, Stuart/Marion, Frankie/Randi, Ryan/Greenlee, etc, etc, etc if the characters aren't on the new show.

Any actor, regardless of popularity/longevity, can be released from their contract with a soap every 13 weeks. It is for the protection of the show/network, not the actor.

Unless they have the 26 week contracts or the one year contract or even the insane pay or play contract. But those are all pretty rare.

Okay. So here's my next question, if an actor gets written out in say, the second week of that 13 week cycle, do they get any type of money for the rest of that cycle since they are still technically employed for the next 11 weeks?
