OLTL Actor Scott Evans Busted For Undercover Drug Buy

I'm starting to think that these former soap actors are trolling us since they seem to pop up in the news a day or so after we discuss them on here:

EX-SOAP OPERA STAR

Scott Evans BUSTED

for Undercover Drug Buy

Former soap actor Scott Evans -- younger brother of Chris Evans -- got busted for attempting to buy drugs off an undercover cop ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us Evans was arrested Tuesday evening when he tried to score narcotics from an LAPD officer posing as a dealer.

Evans -- who played

Officer

Oliver Fish on

"One Life to Live"

a few years back -- was booked at 6:15PM for attempt to possess a controlled substance ... a felony. He bailed out around 12:30AM.

It's unclear what drug Evans was trying to buy.

Evans reacted to the bust with a Facebook post early this morning: "Most ridiculous night of my life in LA so far. At least I made it a year before getting arrested."

Cheap, you must have just forgotten, didn't you used to hang in the OLTL thread during the Kish years?

No I never knew

Wow, I could have sworn you used to post with us. Maybe my AMC/OLTL memories are getting mixed up.

I hated them. I probably tended not to post about them outside the daily threads. I never got into all that controversy regarding their firings either. I simply could care less

The stuff about Claywell and Evans went into such OTT territory, including weird claims that one of them was demanding a "Robin Strasser like salary." That's why I didn't believe it, because it just felt like scapegoating. I never thought the actors were saints, so this doesn't really make me any more likely to believe all the [!@#$%^&*] that went around when they were fired.

Nene: Bitch, I am very rich. Cashing Trump checks. I make a Robin Strasser-like salary. Bloop bloop!

Yeah, all of that was so nasty and all of our guts were telling us that these reports were coming from a warped place. I'm sorry that he's using drugs, I'm even sorrier that he was caught as so many people are on *something* and I would hate for his career to be hurt by being an unlucky one. I know that sounds odd to defend such a thing, but it's really easy to sit back and judge and everyone deserves at least a second chance. Being an out gay actor, things aren't going to be that easy for him to begin with.

Add me to the list of people shocked he tried to buy drugs off a stranger. Like, it is LA, your an actor, your brother is world famous, and you dont have a dealer or know anyone reliable to hook it up?

*sigh*

I hate that this proves that duck-lipped Farah Fath right (about him and his co-star's shenanigans costing them their jobs and us Kish).

I had to catch myself because I'm at the office. But damn! ROTF!

My partner and I had the "pleasure" of being in the same audience as Evans at a show in Provincetown in June 2011. The word "obnoxious" doesn't begin to describe him and his entourage who talked loudly throughout the show, blocked people's views, and spilled drinks all over the place. They were so loud at points that they drowned out the performers on stage. I was a big fan up until that point. That said, he is very sexy in person.

What show?

I dunno, I do think it's funny as I was just asking about his drug thing SoapsandStuds alluded to in the other thread last night--this board sends out karma.

And... This may be an unpopular opinion on here, but it doesn't sound like a huge deal to me. If it happens again, maybe. I have a ton of friends who have gone out clubbing and bought some coke from someone they don't know. Stupid, yes, (though Canada doesn't seem to have the same amount of cops who go undercover as dealers), and dangerous too I guess (though these weren't huge amounts of crack or something)--and I'm not saying I'm advocating it. But it's not like they instantly should go check into rehab. This isn't quite a Michael Nader situation wink.png

(And if I worked with Farah Fath, trust me, I'd have to be high to be able to deal with that, myself).

I'd rather believe that his firing is what led him to join the ski team. In any case, I hope he gives up those slopes soon as that Columbian will literally eat your heart and lead to a premature death in one's fifties.

BTW: Why not just recast? They obviously didn't want that gay couple around.

wiw didn't know he was gay... learning lots of new things in this thread!

I can't remember, did you watch OLTL during the Kish stuff? because he talked a lot about being out, during the time, and Chris and Scott's real mom played his mom on the show (and was worse than Franco's mom on GH...) It just seemed hard to avoid not knowing, at the time--if you watched. (or that Brett was straight, bla bla)

Right? I have a hard time getting twisted over an actor getting high.

I think a lot of people would agree with you, but it's just like what you were saying the other day, it's the ones who are sloppy enough to get caught who make news. There are tons of actors in Hollywood who sneeze snow, he certainly does not deserve to be some sort of poster boy.

For me, it doesn't... I dunno--being caught buying coke at night obviously means he parties with coke at least sometimes--but as Carl said the gossip about the behind the scenes stuff was so OTT and didn't make any sense. They made it sound like the infamous 1980s period on AMC where the younger actors were doing coke on set all the time and finally one of the new EPs (Babbin?) had to come in and let them know they could lose their job--this was after years. (of course that was more accepted then--I was reading a book on the history of A Chorus Line and during its run, especially in he late 70s and early 80s people for that show, and apparently many other Broadway shows, would do bumps of coke in the wings between scenes, etc--finally they had to send someone from Actors Equity saying that their membershiop would be revoked--but this was after years and years. Having, umm, experienced the drug, I can't imagine EVER doing any work while high, especially not dancing or acting on stage or camera).

Right? I have a hard time getting twisted over an actor getting high.

Exactly--the reactions of "I knew he was a tweeker!" "Fath was right!" or people clutching their pears and praying that he gets into a good rehab before he goes all Lohan just strike me as utterly out of touch with reality.

Chris Evans has been known to party--in a Details interview last year he said that when he didn't have to be super fit for a movie and was in off time he tended to party every night--the interviewer said he had 9 beers during their interview alone,a nd he admitted to having done coke. It barely made the news--I guess cuz he wasn't caught (and as someone said on here, and from interviews Scott does seem slightly, well, less than bright, though he comes off as nice enough).
