Girl Meets World - (Boy meets World spinoff)

  • Member

We've seen the highs and lows of Cory Matthews and his lifelong sweetheart Topanga. But what about their daughter?

TVLine reports that the Disney Channel is currently circling the prospect of a Boy Meets World sequel series called Girl Meets World. Not only that, but insiders say the cable network is looking to cast original series stars Ben Savage (Cory) and Danielle Fishel (Topanga); their two characters were married before the popular sitcom ended in 2000. The new series would focus their pre-teen daughter.

Since the end of Boy's seventh and final season, Savage has made numerous guest appearances on other TV shows like Chuck, Bones and Without a Trace. Meanwhile, Fishel's post-Boy work includes National Lampoon's Dorm Daze and hosting duties on Style Network's The Dish.

What do you think? Would you like to see a follow-up to ABC's staple coming-of-age series? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

“Girl Meets World” introduces Rowan Blanchard as Riley Matthews, the tween daughter of Cory and Topanga Matthews, while Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel reprise the roles of one of television’s favorite couples from the nostalgic favorite “Boy Meets World.” Sabrina Carpenter (“Sofia the First” and a Hollywood Records recording artist) plays Riley’s best friend, Maya Hart. so cool! It seems Cory is still his goofy old self! But to be honest I'm mostly just excited about the episode where we get to see all the old cast again!! I'll stay tuned for this and of course for Orange is the New Black on Netflix!

I like the opening credits a lot. So weird seeing Cory and Topanga and they instantly feel in character, just from the damn opening credits.

Watching the Pilot and I kinda like it but idk... pilots are always rough for me, it's very rare that I like a pilot right out of the gate.

I really like Sabrina, who plays Maya.

Danielle & Ben are pure perfection, even after all these years. The little son is seriously adorable, I just want to put him in my pocket.

Jackeé, I just love her.
