I wonder if the rumours were true about Maria's own family wanting her out, and Lauralee was the one behind it. As I've said before, there's really no point in Paul remaining on this show since even long-time supporting characters such as Esther and Gina have all but vanished. Shameful? Perhaps. But that's what happens when a bunch of "writers" make poor choices that result in one man's family becoming virtually extinct on Y&R. Frankly, only Danny/Christine fans who refuse to join us in the 21st century were pushing hard for their reunion...and that probably includes Maria.
