Emma Samms can't cry to save her life. Why was she even brought back to GH that year? It seemed like they did nothing with her.

I guess she was a casualty between Gloria Monty's failed second stint and Wendy Riche's revamp.

I have to agree with you on that (to a point, anyway--her second round of tears were more convincing to me, and I still felt the emotion of Holly losing her husband). Sean, on the other hand? That got to me, along with Robin.

And yes, GM brought her back almost literally right before ABC fired her, and right before Tristan left (and Finola was let go a week before her contract expired anyway).

My goodness I can see why some fans here feel this destroyed Tiffany's character.

Sharon OWNED it though. The scene where Tiffany ODs after her miscarriage is pretty chilling as well.

She does a superb job, but this is kind of way too much, especially for a lighthearted character.

I think it was too much as well, and it just came out of nowhere almost. It seemed like overnight it went from her being fun and lighthearted to Tiffany being depressed and sad all the time, and Sean cheating on her. There's also the scene where everybody (even Lucy and Scott) knew that Felicia was really alive except Tiffany and she shows up at the brownstone and finds basically everyone in Port Charles and Felicia sitting there and it was just so damn depressing. That whole story line was just ugh.

I don't know about anyone else, but for me, the less background music, the more dramatic the scene is.

For years, I've felt soaps should have done away with background music altogether, save for scenes occurring in locations (bars, restaurants, etc.) where music is often heard IRL.
