I thought the closing ceremonies were great. Let the critics attack. It was just as was promised a big party with a nod to British modern music and a little pop culture. And frankly I get so tired of reading online the comparisons to Beijing. The athletes and audience looked like they were having a blast. Not everything or everyone was perfect so what.

Loved the Spice Girls, the Imagine performance by the choir, Queen and Freddie Mercury even if Jessie J was off, Eric Idle was terrific, and The Who phenomenal. The only bad was how NBC butchered it. So glad I watched the live stream of it hours before.

I'm surprised they even included the Spice Girls, given what a joke/90's nostalgia act they're referred to as now in the British press and in UK television shows. I'm glad they did though...

NBC's closing ceremony coverage was just a joke though.
