I don't think I could sit through every day couple wars on this board.

Take it from one who has: couple/fanbase wars are something I wouldn't wish even on my worst enemy.

Scars? More like alter egos. ;)

I must be drunk, because I know this new 5 second member of SON did not just tell me to leave a thread.

Not to start anything but I think you were drunk because she joined the board way before you...just saying. LOL

I may very well have been.

But i DID know that...I just meant she wasn't very active until recently, lol. I know she's been her a while.

Couple wars aren't as bad as the Liz wars.

Try going to a board with Jason/Sam and Jason/Liz fans. Trust me it's much much worse. And no one will ever convince me these hateful fan wars are good for the shows and generate good buzz, especially when actors get death threats from them. Theres never been ratings proof. Look at B&B. If anything they chase people away and make soap fans look even crazier than many imagine and plays into all the stereotypes.

The fan base wars were some of the most ridiculous hateful things I've ever witnessed. I remember fans put together a petition to have Kelly Monaco fired when it looked as if Liason were going to end. Not that I would have been upset to see her go because there has never been a point to Sam, but I thought that was just sick. It's really scary what goes on inside some people's heads.

I witnessed some terrible fans base wars on GH and Y&R boards. And I witnessed fanbased wars for non couples as well those are even more ridiculous. And if you've ever been on a fanbased heavy board where someone's fav gets fired, temporarily written off or is on backburner its worse. People threatening to kill themselves if so and so is not onscreen is terrible.

Wanting an actor fired is pretty mild. On the ABC.com boards there were posters who were calling for Becky Herbst's children to be attacked. I was posting on those boards because I made a few friends there, but they got too sick. We tried to get the monitors to deal with it, but they ignored it. It was the strangest thing; they micromanaged some harmless things and turned their backs when children were threatened.

Wow! Just wow! I never posted there but read it a few times, and all I could imagine is that none of the posters were older than 11 years old.

I wish I believed that, but I don't. The anonymity of the Internet brings out the worst in people.
