Whatever Happened To Good Fights in Soaps?

No the catfights didn't really make it big until after Dynasty. From what I heard before women used to bring people down to size with witty dialog. Women catfighting over men in this day and age just makes them look stupid and childish. And Valeria is lnog over it was a novela from a few years ago.

That's presuming that witty dialogue was plentiful in soaps, which, IMO, it was not. Watching someone deliver a much-needed beatdown is great TV viewing and soaps used to be good at that.

Then the 2 sperm stealing pigs in the same room at the same time? What are the odds?

THREE sperm stealers.

Ashley was there too.

God I loved that Erica and Natalie catfight. I also loved Kendall and Greenlee going at it during the wedding fashion show and again at Fusion, with Palmer dumping water on both of them. Erica's later catfight with Greenlee over Fusion circa 2008 or so and her bathroom fight with Annie just weren't as fun, probably because it was hard not to think that Erica was really too old to be behaving like that.

I don't mind a good catfight if it's well done, and if you can understand why the characters were so pissed at each other that they'd resort to violence.

As far as fights between the men go, I know that at some point, Vincent Irizarry and Michael E. Knight were told to seriously tone down their fights because they were injuring each other, and TPTB were tired of dealing with the accident reports and all that.

Was goat sperm going for top dollar at the time? Was this story a male fantasy, or what?

This topic just brought back long-repressed memories. On ATWT, Barbara Ryan got her head stuck in a toilet (and was flushed!)by one of the many ladies she pissed off. But I can't remember if it was Margo, Shannon or Lyla. Does anyone remember the scene I'm thinking of?

Shannon did that.

I don't remember that one, but on GH Skye got flushed.

Tad and David rolling around on a bed and on the floor, 2004:

Tad and David going at it in a parking garage with Dixie trying to intervene, 2006 (sorry, whole episode, not a clip, but this is one of their better fistfights):

Thanks. That's when I stopped watching AMC regularly, it was clear where they were going with the aftermath of the baby switch. And of course, Dixie's first return was nothing but a mess.
