Its about time Kate interacted with . LMAO! Everyone seems to know Will is gay. BTW, I think his new haircut looks like sh-t

Abby trying to redeem herself? LAME! I hate that the show isnt running with her being a crazy manipulative bitch. Not liking her showing remorse and being self aware of her actions.

I kinda live for the Reilly days just for this particular Abby storyline, because it would be HILARIOUS for her to admit "I made it all up!" for everyone to think she just said that to protect Austin and then we have more weeks of her keeping the secret.

ok so, i was one of MarDar's biggest fans but why give us the abby/austin story only to let it be revealed in two weeks? NEEDS TO GO!!!! on a more shallow note, that scene with will wrapping his arm around sonny's waist was HOTTTTTTT!!!!!

I came across this:

tumblr_m1cmkp5Xw11qc7qzdo2_250.gif

tumblr_m1cmkp5Xw11qc7qzdo4_250.gif

on ONTD yesterday and melted. Looked it up on YT and melted again.

Since I'm new around these parts and haven't watched this show since Sami was on Death Row, I'd like to know if this Will/Sonny storyline is worth me getting into.

They crackle with so much young love/lust(?) chemistry, but I don't want to be misled into thinking that they'd happen if a show hasn't any intention of following through or (even worse) get them together only to ship them the hell off at warp speed (yes, I'm still bitter about Kish).

So, what say you, longtime DAYS viewers?

I guess I'm the kind of fan they're catering to as I really don't care about how fast things are going now. I used to love a slow build but honestly nowadays none of the writers on any of the remaining shows could even do an interesting one if they tried. So if reveal after reveal happens each week, I'm okay with it cause they interest me.

There is no romance between them. The story isnt about them, tho they will def be paired down the line and i highly doubt to be shipped out. It is about Will accepting his sexuality and also dealing his family. Sonny may leave sooner than later, but Will will be here for awhile.

Carl will tell you otherwise tho. He is all doom and gloom with this. LOL

I guess this means that I should temper my enthusiasm and stop myself from coming up with a nauseating squish name for those two, huh? Ah, well... I was hoping that I'd get a front-burner young love story here, though I suppose that coming out as a young gay man is a fine story, too.

Are the Hortons/Bradys homophobes? Or is Will's reluctance solely based on his own insecurities? I'd like to know which angle this story is coming from...

The Bradys are a big irish catholic family who is all about jesus but they make a lot of mistakes and dont really act it, but they always fall back on it. religion hasnt really been mentioned, tho i assume it will be an issue for caroline if anyone, maybe roman. he has a lot of his own insecurities too due to his mother, sami, who has never been there and i think he is pissed that shes not there for him now and doesnt see whats going on in his life because hers always takes front and center. his dads been a non factor until now.

Will and Sami have never really gotten along though. I don't think that has anything to do with his sexuality. They just see the world very differently. I was watching a scene of them recently and it just highlights the differences. It was the same way with Sami and Marlena they just don't get each other.

Sami is pissed about something and Will doesn't understand why she's angry, even though I think her feelings were/are pretty valid concerning the situation. Will just sees Sami as being evil towards Rafe even though she was in the situation because of him. Will has no understanding or sympathy for his mother and always takes the side of others who oppose her (John, Marlena, Rafe, etc.). I also see Will as a very passive aggressive personality. He is upset because his mom doesn't notice him and his problems but he never seeks her for help in the first place and completely bypasses her so it all becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. He is angry at her because she doesn't notice his issues, yet he tries to hard to hide them from her in the first place and never really opens up to her. So I have a hard time sympathizing with his idea that his mom is never there for him or doesn't love him or whatever he is trying to say.

I also never really got the impression that Will wanted a close relationship with Sami, he was too busy judging her and her actions all the time to really be wounded over her "neglectful attitude" towards him.

I love sami. I am a fam brady fanboy. I defend the woman til the end of the world, really. However, she is an awful mother to will. She conceved him to trap his uncle. Shes lied about him, to him, and used him from that moment on. He is an afterthought to her because in her world, she is first. A lot of this was because she was young and dumb and immature, yes. However she never has changed. He left town to get away from her for years, and when he came back she was this new woman. She was in a healthy relationship, in a good place, and he accepted that and moved forward. They had totally bonded since they aged him, then he saw her with EJ and knew that sami was a lie, that she is still the selfish immature bitch shes always been, and her attacking Marlena who he is close to isnt helping that. I totally see him as angry at her for ruining his siblings life as she has his and not caring enough to notice something was wrong with him, that he was going through some stuff. She didnt realize it until after he lashed out and Marlena pretty much tipped her off. I think the EJ sex is just a mask for his real issues with her, and i think its something they will get into down the line.

I never saw this real bonding process because they have never seemed close to me. Even when he came back in 10' or whenever he always seemed to think Sami was wrong or at fault for everything. He got upset with her for shooting EJ but then he later condoned that action and covered for her later on because he seemed to like Rafe enough.

Will is just an incredibly inconsistent character regarding his mother but in terms of the way he views her he has largely been consistent. He always has a poor image of her, to the point where I don't believe he would want her support, help or attention in anyway. That's how poorly he seems to look upon her as an individual. He seems to look down at her a ton. So it's just extremely hard to buy the fact that he holds her in any kind of esteem in the first place to where he would be angry at her for not being there for him in his coming out issues. It's not believable that he would want her there. That is what makes this wounded act so hard to buy. He never thought highly of her in the first place. He always thinks that other people are better then her and he pretty much has always seen her as dirt. Sami's worth in his life is achieved only threw the men that she is involved with and how Will thinks of those men at the time. When Sami was with Lucas he tolerated her, when she was with Rafe he was protective of her and liked her only when she was being nice to Rafe, when she was with EJ he hated her, etc. Will's opinion on Sami is poor and his actions toward her rest solely on how he feels about her boyfriend of the moment. He doesn't seem to genuinely like anything about her as a person or individual. He doesn't see her as a mother. So I don't believe his anger towards her in terms of 'not being there for him' when he acts as if he doesn't want her to be there for him. He doesn't respect her.

Aside from completely disagreeing wit you (I do like how much you put into explaing your thoughts tho, i dont have tie ability to that...) i think that you would be hard pressed to find a teenage guy who didnt care about what his mother thought about him, let alone his being gay. its not even that i think Will thinks that she will care, it will be that she makes it all about her (Its my fault; i caused this; etc).

he doesnt respect her tho, nor should he.

    • I think Steve and Shawn track down Kevin and Jeffrey gives them one dose on the sly in exchange for keeping it quiet. John's organs will go to Bo. We know he's not really coming home. Xander won't make the board meeting so EJ will get the hospital by default. And Kate will tell Xander that Sarah lied to him precisely because she feared he would do something like this to Philip  Those are my Friday predictions! Was a good show. I felt Philip's fear in that last scene.

I guess Susan was necessary today, but I really wish she’d leave. Marlena putting EJ on blast about Belle was pretty good though, and I hope they continue to use Marlena in their storyline. I’m interested in seeing what happens to EJelle in the aftermath of the John storyline. And I really wish we were seeing Paul and Andrew moving in on John’s location. If they can’t get Christopher Sean on the show, they should at least try to get Colton Little.  I liked how smart Xander was today and that he immediately that Philip stole the drug. He did a pretty good job in his scenes where he confronted Philip as well. I also appreciate the way that Philip’s been written lately; more like a tragic hero than a bratty, goofy clown. Which is all the more reason that I hope the triangle with Stephanie and Alex is revived. But Xander did seem a little overly melodramatic in his last scene though And, I can’t help but think that Dr. Russell being so hesitant about involving the police in the drug theft could be a sign of something.
    • I haven’t watched since Daisy’s last episode. Part of me feels like its a good place to end it because outside of The Platt’s, Tracy, Todd, and Carla and Swain I haven’t really enjoyed the show. Too many depressing stories and irksome characters, I especially hate what they’re doing to Debbie. I do think its funny they spent all this time investing into that awful new family and apparently they’ve already been canned, feedback must have been horrid.
    • I think the pre-Barnabas episodes are very underrated both for dialogue and character. They're slow but they really create a world and fill out the characters, imbuing them with heavy dimension that ultimately will have to sustain them for years as the show largely stops writing for character after it returns from 1795. What we know about them by then is what they have to power them. (I don't think the show was bad after, I actually love it in '68 and often in times after that, but it was very different.) I think the B&W episodes with Barnabas' early days are especially frightening - they terrified me as a kid - but the color stuff in '67 is also very strong, especially in the stretch where Julia is on the run, Carolyn is under Barnabas' control, and you get the sense that events have gone off the rails for the regular characters and anything goes. As a child viewer seeing it in syndication on the Sci-Fi Channel, who had no idea who lived or who died, it was a lot. Mitch Ryan is especially powerful in the early pre-Barnabas era as the sort of Byronic Burke Devlin character. You knew they had to kill him once Barnabas comes in, despite Ryan's alcohol problem making it impossible to keep him at the show - Burke dominates the first year or so as the fulcrum character, he's incredibly magnetic and charismatic. You couldn't see him becoming a dupe for Barnabas and Julia, as Anthony George's more benign, mild version briefly does before getting unceremoniously killed off. I always found Burke's offscreen plane crash death very eerie and suspicious, and I think the show does toy with the question if Barnabas' powers somehow got him on that plane and if he took it down. I had always wanted Burke to return one day, in any revival project, as a kind of vengeful power broker and puppet master, driven by Vicki's inevitable demise to get revenge on Barnabas and co. I still have Art Wallace's "Shadows on the Wall" DS bible somewhere. IIRC in the earliest versions of the plot Vicki was going to somehow be tied to the butler or his daughter - Betty Hanscomb or something. I don't remember the exact details. I do know there's all sorts of raised and dropped plotlines and characters offscreen in '66, like Ned Calder, the man they clearly intended to pair with Liz and so on. I've always found '66 very rich, but I don't begrudge the show after for it because it's still awfully well-written, specifically the early Barnabas stuff.
    • I totally agree with this, as most of you seem to. Mary Carney was at least competent and reasonably likable; I just feel like she barely had anything of substance to do before she was abruptly given the hook. And I get the backstory of Kathleen Tolan having done a play with Helen Gallagher, but...at any point did they ever actually READ her before they greenlit her? Because...OOF. First time I saw her on SoapNet was right when this GODAWFUL actress named Charity Rahmer played Belle on Days of Our Lives for all of three weeks before she was mercifully recast; her line readings were straight out of a Charlie Brown special. I remember thinking Kathleen Tolan could have played her mother! In the Frank/Jill/Delia triangle, Delia WAS the one who was cheated on, so I got why she was upset and thought it was perfectly valid in theory at least, but of course it was blown up to Wagnerian proportions including falls involving staircases and tricycles. But with Pat/Faith/Delia I had no sympathy for her...especially because it was mainly with Catherine Hicks's Faith and I really liked her.
    • I was going through those episodes from 1984 and early 1985 before they were taken down. Some of the older characters, like Don and even Tom, looked a little out of place, like they were on the wrong show. But the newer characters were fun. It's too bad they lost the character of Melissa. I guess Jennifer took her long-term place on the canvas.
