His father, Sir William McMahon, served as the 20th Prime Minister of Australia from 1971 to 1972

EDIT: to add some very funny parts of his wiki

McMahon has been described as one of Australia's worst prime ministers by Australian political scientists and historians, and after leaving office several of his former colleagues openly criticized his leadership style and personal character

Throughout his life, there were also frequent rumors that he was homosexual. The suggestion was repeatedly denied by Lady McMahon; one occasion in the 1970s resulted in an infamous tabloid headline, "My Billy's No Poofter – Sonia Tells".

It's still so wild to see Jake Weary all grown up when I still remember when his mom was pregnant with him (on GL, and IRL).

That's right, Kim Zimmer was pregnant with Jake Weary when Reva was pregnant with Shayne.

I don't think I've seen a photo of Mr. Weary, but from what I can tell Jake looks so much like his mother.

Forgive me because this stretches the topic a bit, but I cannot stop thinking about this line in Barbara Rush's (aka AMC Tad's doppelgänger's Ted's mother Nola Orsini & Flamingo Road's Eudora Weldon) wiki bio.

The quote comes from an article about Rush's daughter Claudia Cowen who is a reporter for Fox News.  Rush's ex-husband was one of the biggest publicists in Hollywood.  And, she had a famous house in Bel Air.  But, I want to know how at 70 years old, she wound up at the Lloyd Estate, which is huge, and had been owned by Ron Burkle and Ted Field.  The house was worth 60 million dollars in 2001.  But, I cannot find the story of why/when/how she lived there, because whenever she gets asked about it, she always says that she was “staying” there, not that she bought it.

BTW, for those that may not know.  Her ex-husband, Warren Cowen, wound up marrying the mother of Sarah Gilbert (Roseanne & The Talk), as well as her half-siblings Melisa and Jonathan Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie).  So, Ms. Rush did not get her money from him, because she got remarried to a sculptor of minimal reknown, and they divorced in 1973.

Ms. Rush died last year with dementia.

I was going to put this Lisa Brenner interview in the AW thread but I'm not sure she says much about AW in it. I admittedly skipped around a lot as the interviewer's style annoyed me.

    • Maeve Kincaid said in interviews that she misses slapping Jordan Clarke's face..something along the lines "He knew how to take a slap!"   Or voodoo dolls..LOL!
    • Staci Greason was in Paris during this live tribute, which would have been in the middle of the night where she was. So Fairman arranged to pretape Greason earlier in the same day, and then spliced her part into the end of the video after the live feed, and it's all on the same youtube.
    • Agree to disagree. I like it. No doubt it's different. It's supposed to be. Is it dated? Yes, but then that's natural, it's from 1977. I think that reviewer needed to watch a few more episodes. It is clever but not precocious. The role reversal IMO works & well. The best thing I could advise anyone interested, is to try it for yourself, you can always quit it if you don't like it. As much of it as some of us were able to gain access to are up on the Internet Archive & also on my Rumble acct. If you need further directions, PM me.
    • This was really amazing to watch.   They said that a lot of stuff was filmed out-of-order, over a few weeks. John's memorial service was filmed a few days before Drake died, and then there was a prescheduled pause (the studio being dark for a haitus week).  So they got the news of his passing during the break. But some of the recent stuff at John's bedside (such as his death) was filmed after that hiatus break, so not long after Drake died.

I don't know how the actors got through it, especially Deidre. They said regarding episodes airing week of June 9th stuff, it will seem less dark to viewers, as there were some (relatively)  lighthearted moments. (not giving spoilers here).  But I guess Drake was still alive when those scenes were filmed, even though they knew he'd pass soon.
    • Thinking about where the current Cassadines are.  Alexis, Molly, Kristina, and Scout are currently active on canvas. Technically, Ace is on canvas, although we never see him. Jake is in school in Spain? Valentin and Charlotte are currently off-canvas, I think? I've lost track. I thought Valentin was in a prison somewhere, but then I remember reading something about Charlotte, and deciding if she'd live with Valentin or Lulu, but I don't remember what was decided.  I'm unclear on where Valentin is now. Nikolas is in prison. Did I miss anyone?
    • Thank you! Also, can't seem to find Oct thru December '73. I thought it was here at one time.

    • To me, he was her best romantic pairing!
    • In 1986, the writers had Zane shot twice in March and August when he died.  It’s like they didn’t know what to do with the character after they married him to Felicia.
